Participant Page: Hiking helps me rebalance
Vestibular disorders are more common than you think.
Every day I listen to the stories of vestibular patients who lose some portion of their lives, and often their identity, to a disorder that robs them of balance and causes a host of other symptoms, including vertigo, dizziness, nausea and brain fog. As a result they suffer from anxiety, depression and social isolation. These disorders are invisible and misunderstood. Sometimes friends and family - even their doctors - think they're faking it. THEY'RE NOT. My mother has Meniere's disease, a condition that can run in families. I hope I never have to suffer the way my mom has. I hike to raise awareness in her honor.
Discover Life Rebalanced
VEDA's staff cares about helping vestibular patients get back to balance. That's why we're reaching out to our own personal networks to raise awareness and funds for this important cause.
