Support Groups

At the Vestibular Disorders Association (VEDA), we respond to numerous requests from people who are struggling with concerns about health, relationships, family interactions, and finances. In fact, the invisibility of a vestibular disorder directly contrasts with the degree of impact it can have on a person's life.

Support groups provide a safe and encouraging environment that fosters progress towards better health management and personal acceptance. They perform an invaluable service in addition to the information resources and services that VEDA provides directly.

Find a support group and other resources for U.S. and world regions

Starting a Support Group: If you do not find a support group near you and are interested in starting one, VEDA can provide some assistance in the form of materials to help you facilitate meetings and announcements on our Web site and in our quarterly newsletter, On the Level, about your new group. VEDA also has a new Support Group Leader Resource kit that provides information on starting a group, possible meeting formats and topics, and other information.  Select this for more information about how VEDA can help support group leaders.

Online discussion groups: Another possible method of contacting others with vestibular disorders is through an online discussion group. For those who feel comfortable with this type of forum, see VEDA's page of links for a few of the many available online groups available.
