Participant Page: Support My 50 Mile Bike Ride for Balance and Vestibular Awareness!
Glenn here from MindOverMenieres.com, and I need your support!
On May 20th, I will be biking 50 miles to raise awareness for vestibular disorders and to support VEDA in helping patients (like me) who suffer from a devastating balance disorder.
At the end of 2011, my doctor delivered the diagnosis:
"You have Meniere's disease. There is no cure. It causes the vertigo, the dizziness, the pressure in your ears, everything you've described."
It was one of the scariest moments of my entire life. I truly believed my life was over. I had no hope.
But that was then. Today, I'm happy to report that life is good! I was eventually able to fight for my health, and while I still have Meniere's disease, I've learned to manage my symptoms incredibly well.
When I was first diagnosed, I didn't think I would ever ride a bicycle again. I was having vertigo attacks and was I dizzy all the time. It wasn't just biking. There were many things I thought I would never be able to do again.
On May 20th (weather permitting), and with your support, I will complete my second ever 50 mile bike ride.
Meniere's disease, along with many other vestibular disorders, can completely destroy your quality of life. It did for me for a long time.
Help me raise hope, awareness, and some much needed funds for the millions of people around the world who are still suffering.
Together, our voices will be heard.
Join me in support of the Vestibular Disorders Association and make a donation today to help me make a real difference in the lives of dizzy patients worldwide!
