The dizziness and fainting on top of everything else would be hard for anyone to handle. Because these symptoms have been getting worse and you’ve already passed out several times, it’s really important to get checked out as soon as possible. With your other health conditions, it could be something serious but also something doctors may be able to help manage if caught early. If you can, please reach out to your doctor right away or go to the ER and share everything you described here. You don’t have to just push through this alone. Wishing you all the best.

The symptoms gradually and slowly left me. I just recently got back from my 2nd cruise to the Mediterranean and the symptoms are back.

My story starts about 12 years ago in a prison in Southern Illinois. I found myself in a fistfight with a very large man which I lost in spectacular fashion. I'm not sure how many undefended punches I sustained but they were mostly in the ear as my ear was about the same thickness as a steak afterwards, also for a good month following the fight every time I would sit up in bed I would get vertigo, and my eyes don't line up now when I look up. After I got out I noticed I would get these dizzy spells accompanied by neck pain trouble chewing and a ridiculously heavy head. Now it's too the point I am losing consciousness 3 times so far this week and when these spells come on I am useless because I am too dizzy to do anything. I just kept thinking it would eventually sort itself out but instead has gotten progressively worse. I am diabetic and I do have high blood pressure and I've been fighting a 7 month infection in my foot that I still may lose some of my toes to. All of this I can handle except the dizziness and fainting. Also I've noticed when these spells come on everything gets too bright like being snowblind.

She has given me stare exercises to do and I am seeing her again next week. I had a vestibular balance test done this week with a local company too. Awaiting results when I see ENT monday. It’s not so much the diagnosis because I’m sure it’s going to be vestibular dysfunction and rehab after having a virus/ear infection. It’s the fear that I’m not going to get better. I can’t tell you how much your story has given me hope! Thank you!

Hi.

Praying someone can offer some advice. 7 weeks ago I had a resp tract infection and an attack of herpes simplex. For two weeks I felt spacey and weird. Then out of the blue I couldnt get out of bed. Severe nausea and spacey feeling. No spinning, no swaying. I have been bed bound for 3 weeks now. The nausea was ok last week and now I’m bed bound with it again. I can’t eat, I can’t move. I feel like spacey feeling is getting better but the nausea is just over bearing. People say don’t take meds as it tricks the brain. Does that include ondansetron? I have seen an ENT and he doesn’t know whats wrong. I have seen a vestibular physio but I can’t get up to do exercises. Does anyone have any idea whats going on please? I’m too sick to work or care for my baby. I am alone and spiraling. What should I do?
