Join us in Calgary for North 49’s Vestibular Therapy Foundations Course, a practical 16-hour course designed to give clinicians the knowledge and hands-on skills to confidently assess and manage patients with dizziness and balance disorders.

This hybrid course combines 4 hours of self-paced online learning with 12 hours of interactive live teaching and hands-on laboratory sessions.

Course Format

Participants will receive access to the online material three weeks before the in-person course. The online component includes three modules and approximately four hours of instruction. A short online examination must be completed before attending the in-person portion.

In-person training:

Saturday, January 30: 8:00am to 5:00pm
Sunday, January 31: 8:00am to noon

What You’ll Learn

The course provides a practical approach to the assessment and management of:

  • BPPV involving all semicircular canals
  • Vestibular hypofunction
  • Vestibular migraine
  • Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD)
  • Concussion-related dizziness
  • Central vestibular disorders, including HINTS+
  • Fall risk and balance impairments
  • And more

Who This Course Is For

This course is designed for clinicians who:

  • Know dizziness is an area they should understand better, but aren’t sure where to start
  • Have treated patients with dizziness with mixed success
  • Work with concussion and want to go beyond VOMS
  • Want more than BPPV treatment strategies
  • Are looking for a practical vestibular refresher or clinical update

What You’ll Walk Away With

By the end of the course, you’ll be better prepared to:

  • Explain vestibular anatomy and physiology in clinically relevant terms
  • Perform and interpret a comprehensive vestibular assessment
  • Identify patients who are appropriate for vestibular rehabilitation and those who require further referral
  • Develop and implement individualized vestibular treatment plans
  • Establish realistic expectations and recovery timelines with your patients

Bottom line: You’ll leave with a clearer clinical framework and greater confidence when assessing and treating patients with dizziness and balance disorders.
