This course provides allied health professionals with an introductory overview of best practices in concussion evaluation and management based on emerging evidence and expert consensus. We offer concise literature reviews on topics such as acute concussion pathophysiology, post-concussion syndrome, rest and activity post-concussion, cervicogenic contribution to concussion symptomatology and provide strategies for building individualized return to learn and return to work programs. This live course also offers a hands-on approach to learning clinical assessment techniques as well as introductory vestibular and functional rehabilitation strategies that can be immediately incorporated into clinical practice. The course builds in lots of opportunity for interactive case discussion as well as live technique and case demonstrations.
This information is applicable for those who work with athletes and sport-related concussion as well as those working with the general population. The course spans 1.5 days (Friday, 1pm-5pm and Saturday 9am-5pm)
