The University of Pittsburgh is pleased to offer a virtual continuing education course: Vestibular Rehabilitation: An Advanced Course and Update, May 9-10, 2025.
Vestibular Rehabilitation: An Advanced Course and Update is at an advanced level and is designed to provide an update regarding the treatment of persons with balance/vestibular disorders and the underlying science. Some of the topics include central causes of dizziness (e.g. anxiety and migraine related dizziness), BPPV, concussion management, vestibular function testing, alternative therapies, pharmacotherapy, cervical dizziness and innovative therapies for person with vestibular disorders. Each of the speakers is an expert from one of several disciplines including physical therapy, neurology, neuro-optometry, audiology, and psychiatry. There are scheduled question and answer periods following each session during which participants can ask the faculty questions.
Keynote speakers include Dr. Joseph Furman and Dr. Susan Whitney. Drs. Furman and Whitney will conduct the lab/cases together to provide a unique physician/physical therapist team perspective.
If a participant is not able to attend all of the presentations in real-time, participants are able to review on-demand recordings of the presentations after the conclusion of the course for a period of one month.
