For over a year I was dizzy had trouble walking and could not lay down. Any head movement resulted in severe nausea and extreme dizziness. About 6 months into that I couldn't get out of my recliner. It took another 6 months to finally get a diagnosis of autoimmune encephalitis and Epilepsy.  In the years leading up to my diagnosis I was repeatedly told it was all in my head and given all kinds of medications for things I did not have. Basically my immune system is attacking itself and they are killing my immune system off.

Lea, thank you for this post. I have been experiencing similar symptoms. Did you have a clean MRI and blood work prior to your diagnosis? My doctors currently think I have vestibular migraines, though my symptoms seem to be getting worse and worse, which concerns me. I would really like to hear back from you. Thanks.
