Lauren Wootton is the founder of The Vertigo Therapist. She obtained her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from McMaster University in 2012.
Lauren initially opened a virtual clinic during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure people across Ontario could continue to access vestibular physiotherapy despite clinic closures and a lack of vestibular-trained therapists in many rural areas. She now continues to treat patients both virtually and in person at her Burlington office.
Following her master’s degree, Lauren has completed extensive post-graduate training in manual therapy, acupuncture/dry needling, and vestibular rehabilitation. Her vestibular rehabilitation credentials include Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation and a Certificate of Competency in Vestibular Rehabilitation through Texas State University. She is currently in the process of completing her Advanced Vestibular Therapist Certification through the University of Pittsburgh.
In addition to her clinical work, Lauren is a faculty member in the Physiotherapy program at McMaster University, where she mentors and trains the next generation of physiotherapists.
Lauren focuses exclusively on vestibular conditions, allowing her to continually refine her clinical reasoning, treatment strategies, and skills within this specialized area of practice. She believes the most effective treatment for vestibular disorders is highly individualized and tailored not only to the specific diagnosis, but to the person, so care aligns with each patient’s goals (both big and small) and progresses at a pace that feels right for them.
