Balance Awareness Week 2025

Save the Date!

September 14-20, 2025

Balance Awareness Week is a global event aimed at raising awareness about balance loss, vertigo, dizziness, and other vestibular conditions.

Why Do We Need Balance Awareness Week?

Most people are not familiar with the term "vestibular," which refers to the inner ear system that communicates with the brain to help us understand our position in space. However, many of us have experienced that disorienting moment when we lose our balance. Whether these symptoms develop gradually or suddenly, dizziness, vertigo, and nausea can make everyday tasks a significant challenge.

What is Balance Awareness Week?

VeDA (Vestibular Disorders Association) launched Balance Awareness Week (BAW) in 1997 to bring attention to invisible balance disorders. Increased awareness helps us understand and support those affected, including family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. While many balance disorders are incurable, quicker and more accurate diagnosis, combined with effective coping strategies, can significantly improve the quality of life for those living with these chronic conditions.

Together, we can support individuals battling dizziness, vertigo, and imbalance as they strive for a life rebalanced.

Why Participate in Balance Awareness Week?

  1. Raise Awareness: Help make vestibular disorders visible by educating others about these conditions and their impacts.
  2. Support Research and Resources: Your participation and donations enable VeDA to fund critical research, provide valuable resources, and offer support to those affected.
  3. Global Impact: By joining our efforts, you become part of a worldwide movement to raise awareness and support for vestibular disorders.

Join VeDA in making vestibular visible and supporting those on their journey to a life rebalanced.
