I'm recording my symptoms here in hope that if more data points are registered, the vaccine community may identify this as a common side effect! I started having vertigo 23 days after receiving my first Pfizer shot. It lasted for over a week. I just started experiencing vertigo again, beginning 24 days after receiving my second Pfizer shot (which was 4.5 weeks after my first shot). I'm hoping it resolves itself soon!

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here developed floaters in their eyes after receiving the vaccine? I know this isn’t related to vertigo, but this is one of the only forums I found with people talking about vaccine side effects.

I received the first Pfizer shot on April 6. After a couple days I noticed these two tiny black floaters in my left eye. They haven’t gone away and I’m worried about getting more after receiving the 2nd dose this morning. I’m a healthy, 30 year old male with no history of vision problems.

And there you have it. Nothing scary, it’s the nasty EBV popping up– and further research is starting to conclude that this dormant virus is actually behind some types of cancers in us– thus, the vaccine may have done us a favor by acknowledging EBV and getting in a routine of healthy vitamin C supplementing.

Feel better everyone! <3 -Cary Herrman

What do you mean by "behind some types of cancer in us" ? Do you mean that if you have this than you might have cancer? How is that nothing scary?

@dania Glad you are feeling better. Thanks for the helpful information. I think that eating clean/whole foods & meditation & mindfulness can help some people, though I'm still learning how to do this. I feel that a lot of my dizziness/vertigo (movement in my head, but not spinning) is neurological (MDD sometimes) and triggered by stress (and some vision & neck issues) vs BPPV, infection, inflammation, allergies, vitamin deficiency, BP, etc. There are so many causes that it's difficult for many Drs to figure it out. I started having some issues in 2007 & it was mild & off & on, but then my symtoms became daily a few years ago during a time when I was very stressed. It's been much better the past year or so, but it's still an issue most nights when I lie down. I feel that calming my nerves & using some mindfulness/meditative/reiki techniques I've learned from specialists online are helpful. When I first felt really sick, I would freak out & get nauseous, pale, shake, & have nystagmus & dilated pulpils & then I realized that my anxiety was worsening this because dizziness/vertigo can be really scary. So now I try to just stay calm & use relaxation techniques in the am/pm. When it gets really bad, I give in & take gravol/Dramamine. I saw many specialists & had many tests & did vestibular PT. It's important to get some tests to rule out things & vestibular therapy can help, but many Drs. gave me a different diagnoses & wanted to prescribe strong meds or anti-convulsants & some just told me they couldn't help me. So seeing too many specialists is not always helpful. One specialist tried a slow Epley maneuver, which made me much worse. It can be miraculous for BPPV,but it's not for all dizziness sufferers. Some things that I tried/might help others besides motion sickness chewables are:wrist sea bands & a pulsating one, sleeping on back or propped up by 2 pillows or a mattress lifter, b12 & D (if your levels are low), magnesium foot roll on for kids, walks, weighted blanket, herbal roll-on behind ear, & headache meds. Unlike many others, I feel better when I walk & move around. I read a few articles stating that moving around instead of lying in bed too long is important for people who are dizzy. Obviously you can't move if you are spinning. Even though I felt like crap, I still continued to work/teach & keep going & I think that helped my brain to compensate & deflect from my dizziness. I hope all of you feel better soon. I'm sure you will get some relief soon. Thanks to many of you who have shared helpful information.

@west1979 Hello West, I too have taken the attitude of trying to fight through this rather than letting it consume us. Very encouraging post.😊

Hello everyone,

I got my first Pfizer on 04/17 and 2 days later I felt dizziness, nausea and pressure in my forehead area moving around (more in the night during closing my eyes). Went to ER and they could not find anything. Back home I stumpled over this forum and another post and most of the people suggested antihistamine and steroids. So I went to my doctor, he gave me Vertirosan and Prednison. I immediatly felt better after the first day, but several days later now it got worse again. Also took a lot of Vitamin C and tried different type of anti inflammatory tea / food. Here again my full story until now:

  • 04/17 - first pfizer vaccination
  • 04/19 - first dizziness, pressing in head, pressing cheeks, nausea
  • 04/21 - dizziness extreme in the morning -> hospital
  • 04/22 - MRI hospital, everything looks ok for them
  • 04/26 - start prednisone, first improvement
  • 04/27 - neck pain, general condition worsened again
  • 04/28 - massage, neck pain better, no general improvement, right eye blurred vision for several hours

Is there a timeframe where it got better for you? Like 3 weeks overall? 4 weeks? Would love to hear about similar experiences and success stories.

@jorpilla1624 I’m curious how your neurologist visit will go. Mine is next Thursday, 4/6. I’m desperate to get these daily headaches to stop, along with the next and eye strain. I’ve already been to my primary, urgent care, and the ER. It’s awful. Good luck.

I can say that it for me it got somewhat better after 4 weeks after 2nd shot, no nausea and vertigo, but slight dizzines mostly vision disturbances, also some occasional headache, pressure in sinuses, some pain in joints, chest, slight weakness in limbs sometime it get better sometimes it gets worse, but overall I'd say it is improving.

@markm90 Did you happen to see "flashes' around the time you noticed the floaters? If so, you may want to go see an ophthalmologist to make sure you don't have a detached retina. I don't want to alarm you and in many cases it's just a natural thing that happens. I have new floaters but I don't think it was caused by the vaccine. I saw my ophthalmologist and everything was OK. In time, your brain learns to ignore the floaters.

For anyone that is struggling with these symptoms, they have started to get better for me this week. I've notice my vision getting better in my right eye, aches and pains are back to somewhat normal, pressure in my ear comes and goes but it's better, the neck pain that still lingers but is less, headaches are less frequent, and the fatigue seems to be less and less daily. I've had the full Moderna Vaccine for 2 1/2 months now and I just started feeling better this week. Now mind you I have incorporated some things new things which would be Vitman C 2000 mg x3 a day, Sun lamp at my desk (Vitamin D), healthier diet, guided meditation, and began working out again. Hope this helps. Prayers for all as usual.

I have a history of mild bppv, but have been symptom free for almost 11 years. About a week after my second Pfizer shot, I experienced a significant episode of vertigo when I got up in the night.
I had several more episodes in the weeks that followed, then a major episode after doing some neck exercises at the gym. I saw my internist, and she didn’t see anything worrisome, thought it was BPPV.

My vertigo is getting worse a full month after the vaccine.  Full disclosure, I went on a planned hiking trip in Utah and have probably been pushing too hard.I have an appointment to see a vestibular therapist, hoping that will help.

wondering if the vaccine triggered this, or if I was just overdue for another, more severe, episode.

I am 63.

@burgi I'm curious how you were prescribed the prednisone. I just started a Medrol pack today (methylprednisolone). I start with a large dose that's gradually tapered off over the next 5 days. Too early to tell if it helps but I'm optimistic.

@cmm24 Did you report your symptoms to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting system? https://vaers.hhs.gov/esub/EsubController

If more people report, the more likely the CDC will take notice.
