I had the first moderna vaccine March 1 2021. I had vertigo for 4 weeks with vomiting. Also frequent migraines. I all was very debilitating. I am still very fatigued.  It is now August 16 th and I scheduled my second vaccine, but now I am having second thoughts after reading these above comments.

Has anyone got the second covid vaccine after these symptoms from the first vaccine? If so, what kind of reactions if any after the second vaccine.

Hello everyone, I finally decided to join and share my experience with the 1st dose of vaccine.. I've been very stressed but thanks to reading your comments I was able to start working on improving the condition. I live in Latin America and I am a 35 year old female with no major health conditions.. I had my 1st doze of Pfizer on July 23, during the first 2 days I only had arm pain which is what I was expected and most people told me I would get; after that was gone, starting on the 3rd day I started to have a strange dizziness and tiredness.. I had no idea what was going on, I thought maybe I was just tired, but then the symptoms got worse, on the 4th day I felt extremely bad, besides dizziness I had palpitations, cold shivers, a strange feeling of tingling in my legs and noises in one of my ear, like a distortion type of sound, I really thought maybe I was dying and was about to have a brain ischemia or something. In the following days I started to investigate in Internet since none of the people I know have had similar reactions, all the people I told about it, told me that "it must be just stress" but I knew something was wrong.

I also noticed the dizziness happened more on certain positions, like when reclining or lying down on bed, it got better when standing up and walking; in the second week the sensation in my legs vanished and no more shivers either; only tiredness, light headiness and dizziness remained. So I found his forum and read about different reactions people had related to the ear, then I decided to get an appointment with an ENT specialist on Monday of the 2nd week; I explained the doctor everything I felt and after he did all his examination, he diagnosed that my vestibular system is affected and that's what's causing the symptoms; he also admitted that there have been many reports of vestibular system affectation following the COVID vaccines and that he had many patients with similar symptoms.. I was very glad that he didn't deny it and was very honest with me; so he prescribed betahistine of 16mg for 20 days, zinc supplement for 30 days and recommended me to take vitamin C of 500mg as well, and he also told me to do vestibular reeducation exercises everyday. I was a bit anxious the first day I took betahistine, I've didn't even know about the "vestibular system" before and didn't know there were nerves in my inner ear that control such things, so I was a bit nervous about this medicine, in the end I took it; and the first day the medicine caused me sever dry eyes, one eye got very red and itchy; so I used artificial tears.. I called the doctor and told him what happened, he then told me to try the medicine again the following day but instead of taking it in the evening, to take it in the morning.. I did that, and my eyes were fine; I think taking it in the night it's not a good idea since we are not drinking water while sleeping or near to bed time, so there's more dehydration I guess; however the first day I took the medicine, I did feel an enormous improvement in regards to the dizziness symptom.

Now I am on my 4th week after the 1st dose.. I'm still taking the betahistine, vitamin c, zinc supplement; and also vitamin d which I was taking since last year, and I'm doing the vestibular exercises everyday.. and I can say that I feel a lot better, maybe I can say 80% better?  I still get the dizziness sometimes during the day if I do some positions with my head; but for example yesterday I only felt it once when I lied on bed; and the day before maybe 2 times. I feel the exercises are helping too, and I'm still have few days left with the medicine. I'll report how I feel after I stop the medicine and I do the follow up with the doctor.

In summary I'm extremely scared about taking a 2nd dose of the vaccine.. I've never had "vestibular" ear symptoms before in my life, and now I am dealing with all kinds of things; I know Covid is probably worse, but this is not better either, I was unable to do my usual activities, and I'm not sure when I'll be 100% again; before getting the vaccine I was doing weights exercises and trying to increase my muscular mass, and now I can only do a bit of treadmill.. so I feel that I went backwards in all the stuff I was doing.. so my life is impacted, and just thinking that it could get worse with a 2nd dose doesn't make me excited at all about getting it.. and also the fact that the vaccine might be annual is not good either; I was a strong advocate of the vaccine and I was so happy about getting my first dose, and then all of this happened; I felt I was betrayed by the vaccine.. and the fact that none of the laboratories have announced this as an official side-effect makes me feel very angry, people have the right to know and not be told they are crazy or that it's "probably just stress", that's really the worse part of it; if someone had told me honestly that this was a possible side-effect, at least I was prepared and I could think about taking it or not.. but well.. those are my thoughts, sorry about the rant, I hope this is useful to others and I will report again in a few weeks.

Thanks to all who have shared their experiences, it really helped me cope with this since I started this sad "post-jab journey".. 🙂

@paomurata  I have had similar symptoms. I got my first dose on March 1, and had flu like symptoms for a few days. Nine days later I got terrible vertigo. It was debilitating, I couldn't do anything. I now have imbalance issues and have fallen a couple of times. I have had PT and went to a neurologist. I have had unusual amount of migraines since the vaccine, plus extreme fatigue.  The providers are sympathetic, but no solid answers about whether I should get another vaccine. My primary said try a different vaccine instead of Moderna. I scheduled an appointment but now I am afraid to get the second one after reading all these posts. I am at a lose as to what to do. I don't want to be that sick again  after the second dose or worse.

Hi, I'll give my update. Hope it's helpful to some, at least to ease anxiety to those in this nightmare. Things DO get better, but not as fast as we would like =(

I'm 40 yrs old, I eat healthy, no prior illnesses.

1st SHOT (3rd June)

WK 1: no side effects

WK 2: started mild brainfog. Didn't know what was happening, still functioning normal.

WK 3-4: severe brain fog. Mild tinnitus. Could not concentrate, easily forgetting things, disorientation, felt outside me. could only do what was needed to keep with my life. Tried to drive as least as possible. Not taking anything but the occasional paracetamol. Due to all the symptoms I was depressed/anxious, not knowing if I was gonna get ever better.

WK 5-6: brain fog became milder, day by day I felt slightly better (maybe every 3 days I would say I feel better than 3 days ago). Mild tinnitus. I started to concentrate back again, better cognitive abilities. Less depressed/anxious. I started driving again.

WK 7: my best week. I would say 85-90% normal. More energy, did lots of things that week.

2nd SHOT at the end of week 7

WK 8: started getting weird again. Mild brain fog. Tinnitus got worse (still manageable). Severe brain fog for 2 days. Here is when the doctor suggested, it could be the vaccine.

WK 9-10: mild brain fog (kind of getting better every 3-4 days), tinnitus still bad. 1 week of really dry and itchy skin (face only), dry and itchy scalp. Some disorientation. Joint pain (right hand and left knee).

Started going for a walk last 3 days (45-60mins), felt ok, kind of bad when I stopped but after resting and eating felt back to before walking. It feels good to exercise a little.

That's my journey so far. I feel about 80% normal now. I hope I keep improving as like everyone else, I want my life back. All the best everyone. Remember you are not alone in this nightmare.

@giuselo Hi, in my experience becoming more active helped only to get my mind off things, but did not improve any symptom. Do become as active as you can without forcing yourself. At the end of the day, we have to keep the wheel moving in our life. Do rest as well, I found that if I didn't sleep well (say less than 7-8 hrs), I would feel bad during the day and would need a nap.

Stay positive as well, remind yourself that this will pass and you'll feel better. Surround yourself with people that won't question your condition, but understand you and cheer you.

For me nothing else have made an impact. (didn't feel a difference with vitamins, juices, tea, etc.)

Hi, I haven't posted in a while and I was hoping by now I could say that I am better but I am not. I felt good whilst taking ivermectin, dizziness and headaches went but I am not taking it any more and I am still getting dizziness and brain fog. Headaches have abated but tinnitus and ear fullness still ongoing. Still getting aches and joint stiffness too. I am currently taking magnesium, potassium and calcium to see if that does anything. Still having sleep problems and restlessness which isn't helping. A couple of days ago I had a sweet tooth which is unusual for me and I ate too much rubbish and paid for it the day after.

Lots of new people here I notice, so sorry you are all going through this nightmare. I hope and pray we can come through this, it's difficult to keep a positive mind sometimes. I do believe we have to keep trying to lead a normal a life as possible though even though it may feel we are hitting a brick wall.

Best wishes everyone, hope old friends are doing better too.🙏😊

I got my first Pfizer shot on 12th of June and I'm still going through hell, mostly at night. Still haven't had the second because I am beyond certain it will ruin my life.

My first weird side effect was the second night as I was in bed watching a movie and I started shaking uncontrollably. I could feel my muscles contract and the whole thing lasted an hour. The next few days I started experiencing migraines and bouts of dizziness at random times. Two weeks later I had another cluster of weird symptoms such as pins and needles in my whole body, stomach aches, heart palpitations at night whenever I tried to lay down( these lasted for 3 nights), pain in my face and cheeks. And then the worst of all that I'm still dealing with to this day is severe dehydration. I had a dry throat, eyes, nose and even vagina for weeks and both pharmacists and gp just brushed it off and told me to drink more water. Soon after my sinuses got blocked and I started getting fullness in my ears which made dehydration even worse but luckily no dizziness. For 2 weeks now I've had lung pain and excess mucus and I got prescribed steroidal nasal spray that sort of helped with the mucus but it didn't do much for my blocked sinuses. The worst time is at night when I try to lay down so I'm mostly napping on my butt and the most sleep I get is usually 4 hours. I have had 3 PcR tests during this period and they all came back negative. Lab tests were also fine according to my gp. Not sure what's next in store for me as it has been2 months since the first dose and it doesn't seem to get better. I have to mention I have been infected last year in march and I had it really bad with constant fever and cough, stuffy head, sensitivity to light, no taste or smell for 3 weeks. I was popping paracetamol and codeine pills every 4 hours to calm myself down from coughing and was constantly monitoring my oxygen levels and temperature. Lungs were beyond filled with mucus and it took well over 6 weeks to get back to normal. On top of that I had a kidney stone blocked in my ureter at the same time and I was vit d deficient which really fucked my defences. But since then I didn't get reinfected and I have been exposed to a lot of ppl who had it and tgeir kids too. Natural immunity paid off but of course you never know if you're going to make it out alive. At the same time having a strong immune response to the vaccine and becoming deprived of energy without knowing how much protection against the virus you actually get and never knowing what symptoms you're gonna get next is a lot worse. Gps are also not helpful as they parrot the same bs and deny the possibility of these being vaccine related. Part of their job which is really tough and I am grateful for their help but at the same time I am disappointed with the ignorance regarding these long term side effects and the inhumane focus on meeting vaccination targets by forcing ppl and limiting their rights and freedom, gaslighting them and turning other ppl against not so lucky receivers of the vaccine who may not feel strong enough to get a second shot. I hope everyone will recover from these.

@charsen Oh yeah, definitely. They are still there a tiny bit, but not nearly as bad. I also get a tiny bit of queasiness still but not super debilitating. Thank you! Likewise, if you haven't already!

@mexvaxed great to hear you’re consinuously improving. I would like to give you my own doagnosis, mu bloodwork came back today and my homocyctein levels have doubled in 1 month - i did do bloodwork 1 month prior to my first shot. From what i’ve been reading; high levels of homocystein is linked to heart, brain failures if there is a blockage in the veins to those ans other organs. I can swear that the third night when my anxiety woke me up, i felt like i didnt remember anything so thought to myaef this is how alzeirmes must fee like. So i sont wanna freak out but the research is a google away between rising inflammation and link to insert disease name here. I am hoping we will not come down with somwthing more serious soon. There you just felt my anxiety too. Thoughts?

Hi everyone.  I was reading this and I just had to join to reply.  I have had meniere's for, god, 20 years.  I tried all the conventional therapy - diuretics, valium, low carb diets, low salt - -.  I still have tinnitus - (bi-lateral) and am a little dizzy after lunch every day.

That said, I had the Pfizer vaccine in April, 4 months ago.  My arm was a little sore for a few days.  Two weeks later, second dose, no side real side effects.  Maybe the tinnitus was a tiny bit worse, not enough to tell.

One thing I know about Meniere's - stress and anxiety brings it on like the plague!

Don't stress about the vaccine, don't be anxious about it, and get the damn shot.

If you need to take drugs to calm yourself down about it, take some valium, or clonazepam, or whatever works for you but stop reading this garbage about - OMG the Vaccine will put you into Meniere's hell.  It won't. Your freaking out about it, however, will.  Once again, bears repeating - get the damn shot.

Just a quick update. I am starting to feel better after the first dose of Pfizer. I experienced a very sore throat, chills felt like an ear infection as well as extremely fatigue 3 days after, all symptoms lasted for about 13 days. My primary care nor urgent care would take me since these are also COVID like symptoms. Although, no fever.  I completed a rapid and a full PCR testing and came back as negative. I am currently on antibiotics proscribed by a doctor that would only agreed to listened to my symptoms  only virtual. I do live in Florida and i am very sad to say how many young kids and adults are being infected. I started feeling much better then I was about 2 days ago, started my workouts again and slowly feeling like myself. Do intend of getting the second dose after the antibiotics. I truly truly hope the best for every each one of you here! We will get through this! Stay safe! 💖
