Update... I feel better after 12 days of being dizzy, foggy, light headed, off balance & headache immediate after the Pfizer shot. I still have ringing in ears and a little off when I wake up but other then that I’m fine during day for the past week.. I can drive, eat, clean, Read, shop, gym and all the normal things. And I’m so greatfull and will never take my health for granted. It Was very scary & I was very sickly. I try to live a healthy lifestyle and I do have a thyroid condition. I didn’t take vitamin C because I believe that’s to make your immune system stronger when I was trying to calm mine down in case it was an immune response from the shot. I Just wanted to share my recovery this far as I was scouring thru these post to see if anyone got better when I first had my symptoms. I Wish everyone well...

I have had the side effects described in this forum starting four days after my first dose of Moderna vaccine. No previous experience with vertigo or dizziness. Clearly related to the vaccine.

Effects were attenuated after about 3 1/2 weeks, so had the second dose. The day after the dose, I felt fine but after about 48 hours the vertigo and dizziness returned. After another day, symptoms are attenuated.

I found this piece on the internet and think that it may have some relevance:

I have followed this thread with great interest.  Many thanks to David, the moderator of this thread.  I believe that my VN/VM was caused by the covid 19 infection. I was not tested because I became sick early on in the pandemic.  Sick enough to call the doctor but never sick enough to go to his office even with 3 of the 5 main symptoms— The  dry cough lasting almost 4 weeks.  I didn’t start to notice my vertigo until a few weeks after the cough cleared up.  The vertigo, imbalance, occasional migraine (all of which I had no previous hx, were debilitating; and the brain fog made me feel like I was losing my mind.  After 5 months and multiple visits to specialists here, I flew from Florida to PA to get the proper diagnosis from a neurologist who specializes in vestibular disorders.

He concluded that my vestibulo-cochlear nerve was damaged “most likely from a viral infection” but that with persistent therapy my ‘good ear’ could be trained to compensate for the balance problems.  I am thrilled to report that he was correct and I feel improvement already, (although it took about 8 weeks to really notice any difference, and I was warned of that as well).  Now I go multiple days, symptom free and then get the occasional few days that the unsteadiness and vertigo recur but certainly NOT to the degree that I had in the beginning. The therapy works if you stick with it!

I’m adding my story here because I feel uncertain about taking a vaccine which I worry could exacerbate  my condition just as I’m starting to improve.  There is much emerging data on the covid 19 virus/vestibular system connection which I think warrants further study. I am not an anti vaxxer by any means ( I am a retired RN) but I question the wisdom of volunteering myself for an experimental medicine for a virus that A) I believe I already had,) and B) Have a 99.6 % chance of not becoming severely ill from should I get it.

I think it must be a deeply personal choice to take it or not to take it and all individual decisions must be respected. I have seen my family and friends rejoice in their liberation after vaccination and it brings me joy to see them out and about — without fear!  I hope that is me someday! But for now, I’d like to wait, as I cannot imagine being as miserable and incapacitated as I was last year from June through December.

@sarapHi, I get tinnitus but the vaccine has made it worse. I went to ENT about mine a few years ago but no remedy was suggested apart from listening to delta waves (youtube) at night to help with sleep. It's also aggravated by aspirin and certain medications.

@disinfectEd I think you are right. The focus is on getting everyone vaccinated to try to contain the spread of the virus and the consequences will be dealt with later, so it seems.

Hello. Updating im on week 4 and am starting to feel a bit on the normal side. Still feel off but better. I have also not been working this past week and just rested. I am 27 with 2 kids (1 and 7) 5'1, about 108lbs. Previous migraines 1.5yrs after my 1st daughter was born and went away after I got pregnant with my 2nd.

I noticed I started to feel better after I went to the chiropractor. I got an adjustment and told him about my dizziness and how I've been feeling. I had a lot of tension on my neck and shoulders.  I felt great after. My headaches are not as consistent and I have more sessions to go. Been taking vitamin d3 and drink orange juice since vitamin c supplements me super nauseous. I am going back to work and let's see how that goes. I've been trying to stay hydrated with just water, pedialyte, oj, and gatorade. Make sure I'm eating good meals and snacking and making sure I am resting when I can. Like I said I still feel off but idk how to shake that feeling but at least my super fatigue and major dizziness is barely there.

I did not get my 2nd dose as I'm scared of a worse reaction and ER and pharmacy suggested not to get the 2nd dose.

Hope we all continue to get better and not worsen.

Just a caution, I've been reading here about taking vitamin D to relieve symptoms. I would advise to check firstly with your doctor because there could be an interaction with certain meds such as diuretics. They both absorb calcium in the body and can cause hypercalcemia. They would need to be monitored if taken together. I'm not a medical person.

I would like to add that I have suffered from migraines for over 30 years and have sporadic bouts with benign positional vertigo (bpv ) for many years. The post-Covid vaccine disequilibrium seems to be more prevalent with people that deal with these issues. Waiting to see the neurologist.

Hey yall! I got my first Pfizer dose March 18th, 3 days later I started experiencing vertigo, pain on the lower left side of my face, horrible stuffy nose, and an upset stomach. After taking several vitamins and anti vertigo medicine, my dizziness was gone after two weeks. However, today, my dizziness is back along with terrible anxiety. I am in online class all day long, just sitting down, but my heart rate is crazy as if I just went for a run.
