@kim-h Hi Kim. It's a high possibility that is the case. I have come across dr Campbell who is a UK based medical practicioner. He has an episode talking about neuro disease after the vaccine and the lady is describing the majority of symptoms we've all experienced. It's here if you want to have a look. https://youtu.be/lB5oR2gFQEw

Revisiting the forum months after I found it, the posts here were a big help for me during the four months I struggled with side effects after 2nd dose of Pfizer.

I'm writing from Greece and the situation here is much like anywhere else in the world covid-wise, meaning that doctors will readily dismiss any symptoms you are experiencing with regard to the vaccine: it took a lot of perseverance and meticulous self-monitoring of my situation to get out of it, and prove to all that I knew better (if I had listened to my family doctor I would on anti-depressants even as we speak, as he diagnosed my daily fatigue - brain fog - dizziness three weeks after 2nd dose as... depression).

Anyway: I had my 1st dose of Pfizer on May 7, no side effects whatsoever. I happily went to receive my second dose on May 28 and the day after trouble started: first it was fatigue. Two days later the dizziness came in. I also had tingling in my head, at random spots of the head and random moments. Then I started losing ability to concentrate, brain fog so bad I couldn't even write an email or a post on social media. Three weeks later I felt much better and thought that it had all gone away... but it returned. and it kept going like that, all through the summer, with dwindling severity but still there, like a damped oscillation. The last to go was the dizziness: I had seen a GP, an endocrinologist, had a CT scan on my head (I have a VP shunt), bloodwork, pathologist, no findings whatsoever. I hadn't visited an ENT physician and I was planning to, I had "programmed" myself to not move my head abruptly so I won't get dizzy but I couldn't go on like that much longer. That was September. In early October it went away. I checked myself everyday for a month before admitting to myself that YES: it's over. First thing I did was to make up for lost time: I read 4 books in November, wrote blog posts, was at 100% capacity again and enjoying every minute.

It's now been three full months since I've recovered, and I am NOT getting a booster shot. Since Monday February 8 I am considered "unvaccinated", as with all individuals who have not had their booster dose 7 months after being fully vaccinated. I won't have access to a number of venues that are "vaccinated only" but frankly, I DON'T CARE. No way am I putting myself through the vaccination ordeal again! And it makes me sick how people brand those who are not willing to get covid-19 shots as "anti-vaxxers": I've had two vaccines this season - flu and tetanus - no side-effects whatsoever, and my kids are fully vaccinated in all respects OTHER THAN COVID.

(I did learn something new today from reading the posts here, and that was about dehydration. I've been having that for the past two months and it never crossed my mind that it could be related to the vaccine! My face skin feels tight, especially at the corners and under my eyes. It was so bad in December I had to get treatment for it. I would be interested in learning more, or viewing any related links).

Hang in there everyone, there IS hope! All the best from Greece 🙂

@eileenwh Hi. I have read some of your comments. Did you end up getting your 2nd dose? If so, how are you feeling? What did you take before your 2nd dose? I read you were looking into antihistamines etc. Any update would be appreciated. Thanks. I notice NZ are rolling out a 3rd dose, what are your thoughts regarding this?

@buzzgirl Yes I got my second a month ago and happy to report no bad side effects. Luckily I have a very sympathetic doctor who was willing to give me medication. I took 20mg prednisone for 7 days and H1 and H2 histamines for 14 days (a week before and a week after). I have also built up my vitamin d levels. I really don't want the booster and am hoping that the mandates have been dropped by July when I will have to have it. My husband and adult children are putting off their boosters as long as they can after seeing what happened to me. I did find my second vaccination very different to my first.  My first was done quite clumsily, was painful, bleeding and I felt lightheaded immediately afterwards. This time it was quick, painless, no blood and I felt fine after it. I am wondering if the first one was injected into my vein.

@eileenwh Thanks for your update and sharing. It's possible they might have injected it into your vein for your first dose. I know of people who got the doctor to aspirate but they still received unexpected side effects. I personally think it comes down to how many spike protein ones body produces. If its a lot, then it could be causing the issues. Sounds like what you took worked for you. That's great!!

Before you got your 2nd dose, were you symptom free? Also how many weeks after first jab?

Going by friends stories, the booster packs a punch. People I know didn't experience anything after 1st and 2nd, 6 months later they get the booster and they are sick.

Did you experience any flu like symptoms after 2nd dose? Thanks for sharing.

@buzzgirl I had my second 5 months after the first and had been symptom free for about a month. I don't think I could have got it if I still had symptoms. I really didn't get anything more than a sore arm, tiredness and a headache after the second. I realise that the prednisone may mean that I don't get full protection from the vax but I don't think I could have gone for the second without it. My doctor agreed that having prednisone would minimise the chances of my immune system over reacting and it gave me confidence. My theory is a bit of extra protection is better than none.

@eileenwh Thanks for sharing. It's debatable the vaccine will protect against the new variant but it great that you are well and can continue to work. Hopefully these mandates are lifted soon. I hope you maintain taking your supplements to support your immune system as this will aid you to fight against covid as well.

@eileenwh Sorry, the H1 and H2 histamines.. are they antihistamines or histamine blockers? I just googled them.  I notice the prednisone is an immune system blocker.. it would help it from overreacting.

@buzzgirl My understanding is that antihistamines are histamine blockers and they help suppress cytokine storms. H1 is your usual hayfever ones. I took zyrtec and H2 are the ones for reflux/heartburn. You need a prescription for them. I think I had one called famotidine.

@bzzz Thanks for sharing this video. Sounds like it went into her bloodstream considering she got reactions so quickly. Personally though, I think anyone who experiences unexpected adverse reaction is because the vaccine has left the deltoid muscle. It might be straight away or 3-5 days later... who knows

@medee I agree, I would have never gotten COVID, my vertigo specialist says I should have waited 6 months after the first jab.  Gov probably ignored that detail and pushed the standard to three months...my second shot was made by appointment when I got my first shot.  It was too soon. Anyway, 6 months with vertigo and still counting.  I guess I can just hope it wears off, but continuing with a physio therapist, I guess, as the vertigo doctor recommended.

Peace to us all, I hope we all get better <3

@barb-larue7gmail-com Hi Barb, thanks for reaching out.

I think I'm about 80 to 90% better. Still got a little shake in both hands and some involuntary finger movements in both hands though @glenb had mentioned it took a while for his hands to get better i.e. one of the last things. Makes sense if there are nerve issues that the extremities would be the last to get better I guess.

Feeling pretty good though, sometimes have a little regression and then gets better. Sometimes feels like 2 steps forward and then 1 step back.

I'm about 4 months from my second shot that caused all the problems. The first 5 or 6 weeks were the worst for me and a real shock to my system. Reading posts on this forum showed me that some folk have it way worse than me. A lot of variables at play and I had 7 months between shots which may have helped reduce severity, tough to know for sure.

Started running again so that's progress 🙂

I hope you're on the road to recovery too!

Andy
