My friend is an audiologist and sent this to me, puzzled:
- 22 y/o patient (has a history of dizziness)
Recent test results:
- Vertical upbeat nystagmus
- Horizontal nystagmus has resolved
- ABSENT acoustic reflexes across the board, except at 1k Hz both ears
- Very good hearing (5-15 dB thresholds at all freqs)
Any idea what this could be?
This person had horizontal nystagmus initially? Any other information? Up beating nystagmus generally is a central sign.
