Dr. Van Zytveld earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Colorado Physical Therapy Program in 2013 and completed a competency in Vestibular Rehabilitation at South Valley Physical Therapy in 2014. Since then, she has developed expertise in working with people with dizziness, imbalance, vestibular conditions, concussions, head injuries, neurologic conditions, and facial weakness and paralysis. She has also completed extensive training in trauma, pain science education, and autonomic nervous system regulation. She believes that incorporating these aspects of care is critical to the full recovery of her patients.
In addition to her clinical work, Chelsea has returned to the University of Colorado Physical Therapy program in a teaching and research role. She has written several research articles and lectures yearly on the topic of patient safety in physical therapy. She also teaches on the topics of clinical reasoning and vestibular rehabilitation. Chelsea has co-authored textbook chapters on vestibular system pathology and intervention. In 2018, she was awarded “Honorable Mention for a Case Study” at the International Conference for Vestibular Rehabilitation for her research entitled “Undetected Cranial Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak in a Young Woman Referred to Physical Therapy for Chronic Dizziness.”
