Dr. Lauralyn Heon received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with Honors at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. She then decided to move home to Maryland and pursue her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at George Washington University in Washington, DC. During her studies, she had the opportunity to work at her university's pro bono clinic where she provided PT services for uninsured individuals. During her clinical coursework, she worked with a variety of patients with neurological conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings at Mayo Clinic, MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital, and Fyzical Therapy & Balance Centers. Her special interest in patients with neurological conditions led her to pursue a career in neurological rehabilitation where she can tailor her treatment style to meet the functional goals of every patient. Dr. Heon has a passion for treating patients with vestibular and balance dysfunction and is excited to begin her carrer at Fyzical Shady Grove where she was once a student.
