“Wow – the moms in this group just get it!” That was how I felt after my first support group with the Dizzy Moms Club, and I truly look forward to our meetings each month! I’m sure everyone who has had the opportunity to sit in on a DMC monthly call feels the same way. It truly warms your heart to find people who walk in your shoes each day and understand your life… and all without having to explain anything! The Dizzy Moms Club is that group of people for me! I felt so lucky to find these moms who had similar experiences of living with vestibular challenges while being a mom.
As a proud mom of two older kids, ages 19 & 21, I’ve lived with Ménière’s Disease for many years, and it certainly has thrown me some tough challenges. After joining the DMC group and attending the monthly meetings from its inception, I was thrilled to be asked to help out with hosting and have the opportunity to give back to a group that has given me strength when I was struggling, reassurance that I could keep going and find good days, validation that I wasn’t alone in what I was enduring, friendship with people who I had just met on a call but felt like instant friends… and most importantly hope!
VeDA is an amazing organization that provides so much valuable information and support. My hope is that many more moms will find the Dizzy Moms Club and join the conversation. Every so often, you find a group of people who warm your heart, make you feel heard, accept you as you are, and speak your language… The Dizzy Moms Club is exactly that group of amazing people!
