My vestibular journey began in 2011 with episodic BPPV. Then, on July 16th 2016, everything changed. I was suddenly faced with numerous new symptoms that were absolutely debilitating. I was really scared and began my search for answers. Ultimately, it took a year and a half to reach a diagnosis of PPPD and vestibular migraine. I started my recovery process in February of 2018. It was a long journey, but with appropriate treatment, I was able to get back to 80-85 percent of my function over the course of the next year.
When I was at my worst, I joined numerous online support groups and heard of VeDA and the work they do to help patients with vestibular disorders. This past August of 2025, I experienced multiple stressors in my life, and as a result, some of my vestibular issues resurfaced. I decided this time I would heal out loud and, while doing so, connect with and help others who also suffer with these symptoms. That’s when I decided to become an ambassador for VeDA. I’ve only been here a short time, but already it has been so rewarding to connect with the community. Nobody should face this alone.
