Volunteer Spotlight: Abdellah Lachtab

Diagnosis: Other

As a VeDA Ambassador from Morocco, my volunteer journey started after being diagnosed with vestibular nerve dysfunction and partial hearing loss. It was a challenging experience filled with dizziness, tinnitus, and balance issues. But instead of letting the condition define me, I decided to transform my story into a message of hope.

I began sharing educational and motivational posts about vestibular disorders in Arabic and English to help others, especially those in the Arab world who struggle to find information in their own language. My goal is to make vestibular awareness accessible, compassionate, and culturally relevant.

One of my most memorable moments as a VeDA Ambassador is connecting with people who felt alone and later found comfort through the resources I shared. It reminded me how powerful awareness and empathy can be.

I’m currently planning to collaborate with doctors and other patients to create short videos that highlight real stories of people living with vestibular disorders. I believe that sharing these voices helps reduce stigma and brings visibility to our global community.
