UPDATE:

I am 8 days into my 10 day prednisone taper course. I have been taking prednisone, 10mg Zyrtec, Flonase, and 1000mg vitamin c 3x/day. 25mg meclazine whenever I felt really foggy. None of it was working or providing ANY relief so I have decided to stop taking so many meds. Ibueprofen has helped me in the past after my first shot so I am just sticking to that along with eating healthy(mostly vegan). I honestly believe that all the meds mixed with me quitting caffeine abruptly and starting to eat vegan (I was mostly vegan before) was too much for my body. Trying to subtly return to normal (SMALL amounts of caffeine and SMALL amounts of dairy and meat) along with the ibueprofen for anti inflammation. Still some fullness in the ears(feels like they need to pop even though I am popping them multiple times a day!) and MAJOR brain fogginess. Trying to return to some normalcy has provided some relief today which is great. Will keep updated in the next few days!

Hi I had the 1st dose on the 22of April was fine just a small sore on the arm then suddenly when I wake up on the 25 of April the room was spinning so severely I had to take an antihistamine and visit ENT Doctor and he told me I have right sided Eosinophilic otitis media and prescribed me another antiallergic after taking for 2 days it help but the vertigo doesn't seem to go away completely then today the 1st of May I took Tranexamic acid for my menorrhagia problem and to my surprise the vertigo vanish. I don't know if this is a coincidence or something but I'll update further if the verigo appears again.

@b333 Two weeks to the day after having my second Pfizer shot I rolled over in bed and nearly fell out and had such extreme dizziness vertigo and nausea. I have never in my life had vertigo. I was nauseated and vomited most of the day and finally took meclizine which helped. The next day I saw my EMT and he diagnosed ventricular inflammation and gave me Prednisone, meclizine and Valium. I asked if it could be related to the Covid vaccine and he said he was pretty sure it wasn’t. But he also said that he had seen five cases in the past two weeks and that he himself had it. He said it is caused by a virus. I’m totally convinced that this was caused by the vaccine because I have not had a virus or even a cold in the last year because I’ve been so careful. I had Covid in December and had a very light case. I would never have had the second shot if I thought I was going to get this. Now I’m just hoping that it goes away and doesn’t leave me with impaired balance. I am an active 68-year-old woman who walks or goes to the gym every day. I walked to the corner today and it was difficult. Hope this helps.

@chloeshirecliff,

I am also having a similar reaction with vertigo which I never had prior to the vaccine.  My vertigo started 5 days after the first vaccine and resolved that day.  With the 2nd vaccine I had vertigo 10 days after the shot.  I took 9 days of steroids and still am having dizziness.

@deb14,

So glad you are feeling better!  7 weeks is a long time!  What did you do to get through?

@samtay,

Thank you for sharing.  I had vertigo 5 days after the first shot and 10 days after the second Pfizer.  The PA said it is not related to the vaccine, but it is too coincidental.  I've never had vertigo, ever,  She said once you have it, you'll have a propensity to getting it again.  Smh.

For those of you who have had dizziness issues after the vaccine:

- Did you have previous episodes of vertigo/etc prior to the vaccine or this was a brand new issue?

- Has your doctor reported these as side effects of the vaccine to VAERS system?

No, I did not have any previous vertigo or dizziness.  I reported my side effects to VAERS.

@yoki,

Can I ask you some questions about your recommendations?  I've already done the steroid taper pack.  I have not done vestibular rehab, I will request from my otologist.  What are vestibular suppressant meds?  I am new to this as I have never had vertigo prior to my Pfizer shots.  My vertigo started 5 days after the 1st vaccine and resolved quickly.  Ten days after the second vaccine I started having vertigo and did 9 days of steroids.

@tjmginnis,

I feel the same way.  Never had vertigo prior to the vaccines.  Today the PA said it is not related to the vaccine because it did not happen soon after. Many people follow my same timeline.  1st vaccine 5 days after, 2nd vaccine 10 days after woke up with vertigo.

Hi,

I’m a 72 year old male and healthy as a horse

I received my second moderna vaccine and a week to the day after I awoke with extreme dizziness. I couldn’t sit up in bed without literally crashing back into my pillow. I have never experienced anything like this. I called for my housemate to steady me while I walked to the bathroom to throw up.
After intense vomiting I crawled back to bed in hopes of sleeping it off but woke up feeling the same gravity defying dizziness. This scared me so I told my housemate to call 911 and was rushed to the hospital throwing up the whole way an into the ER.
They ran a full battery of tests which all check out and the final diagnosis:  vertigo.
The anti-dizziness meds got me to where I could go home. It’s 4 days later and the nausea hasn’t come back but I’m still very lightheaded with sudden jolts of dizziness.
I just spoke with a friend who experienced the same symptoms after the Moderna vaccine and have just read these posts on here too.
Hopefully these vertigo symptoms will abate.

How are you doing now with the vertigo Joe?

I’m 71 year old male with CLL(chronic lymphocytic leukemia) on venclexta. I received my first Pfizer Covid vaccine on 1/11/21 and the second on 2/1/21. No reaction other than a sore arm at the injection site. Six weeks later on the 18th of April I had a severe bout of vertigo lasting four to six hours with nausea. Was able to sleep. The next day I was exhausted and dizzy but no vertigo. By the second day I felt okay, light headed, and able to work in my woodworking shop. A similar pattern occurred a week later. Since then I have functioned normally. I have been on venclexta for over a year with no side effects. The literature does say the drug can have an impact on vaccine efficacy. My primary doctor and oncologists have not had anything conclusive to say about my vertigo and did not suspect the vaccine.

After reading many of your posts I now am beginning to suspect the vaccine for my vertigo.

@teresawarren40 they're not my suggestions but rather from a physician on this forum @gatordoc . Vestibular suppressing drugs for example include dramamine and meclizine. I'm part way through a medrol pack and will start vestibular rehab in a week.

I've experienced this exact same thing. I had my first shot of the Pfizer vaccine and started feeling dizzy a few days later. I've never experienced this before. I'm now at day 16 and it's not got any better. I'm not physically affected (I can still stand on one leg with my eyes shut for example) but I just feel disorientated. It tends to get better later in the day, although not always.

Occasionally, it gets worse and progresses to an almost shaky feeling akin to the feeling you get when you haven't eaten and are low on bloody sugar. It got so bad a couple of days ago that I went to the local hospital. They gave me an ECG and lots of blood tests but nothing was wrong.

I notice that a lot of you posted a couple of months back. Do you still have symptons?
