Hello!

I posted back on page 1 and wanted to provide an update!

I did not get the second vaccine after what happened with the first. Doctors concluded it was some kind of anaphylactic response (although uncommon, you can have high BP instead of low) and the intense sleepiness 1-hour post shot was in fact my BP crashing.

The day I was due for my second vaccine I was still intensely dizzy and nauseated, so I (along with the docs recommendation) elected not to get it.

I am currently 3-months out from the first dose and just had antibody titers taken which showed that they exceed the maximum range. Hopefully this confers to long term immunity.

My symptoms have slowly began to improve about two weeks ago (so that's approx 10 weeks after the initial dose).

I'm still waiting to see a specialist ENT - but they general thought is some kind of inflammatory response post reaction.

@teresawarren40

5-10 days is peak immune response post vaccine, so if there is an underlying issue it could be affected by this.

@teresawarren40 I appreciate your insight. I do however have a question for you. I'm almost 2 1/2 months with the Moderna Vaccine and I've seen some improvements but it seems that I get brain fog, body, and exhaustion by the end of the day especially when active. I still have a bit of lingering headache and slight vision in one eye being blurry. I was wondering if you think this POTS hypothesis being an issue for me and will I potentially get better?..I'm just wondering because I'm muscling through but I'm just getting frustrated with not being back to my old self again...your insight would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @west1979,

I am not a doctor, but I can tell you what has been helping for me.  I did do a steroid pack and it was difficult at the time, but I do think it helped.  I also have been doing an anti-inflammatory diet, taking anti-inflammatory supplements and slowly increasing my walking. I've been using hot compresses on my ears and neck during the day and at night.  Each day I think what can I do to help my healing?  I'm working on increasing my water also.  Have you seen your PCP?  I also get a lot of information from The Paleo Mom and her podcast, The Whole View. Best wishes for continued recovery.

@teresawarren40 Thank you for the information. I have seen my PCP and they have brushed it off. I also have had a multitude of tests. Nothing has shown as concerning other than the vaccine being the only variable. I did however speak to a teledoc and they told me that she has had patient's that have had the vaccine for over 5 months and they didn't really start feeling better till 4-5 months. Some MDs I've have heard stated 6 months. I'm just very frustrated with not knowing but I'm staying strong and making positive life changes.

Hi John clark,

I have had the same feeling for the past 11 days after getting the 1st Pfizer shot. In addition to the dizziness i am experiencing bouts of weakness in hands and legs (like a shaky feeling). Is anyone also going through the same thing ?

That's good that you have been checked out by your doctor.  My doctor did say he has seen vertigo in his patients and all have resolved.  I read from another poster that her doctor said 3 days to 3 weeks.  I hope that you start to feel better and continue to recover.  It sounds like you are starting to feel better.

@djtoman I said this before. After the vaccine it feels like I have subtle LONG HAULERS COVID.

The one good thing is that I also feel like I am getting better but not fully recovered. Saturday was a better day than today. I am going to push on Monday to get my PCP to refer me to a ENT or prescribe some type of antihistamine. I’m hoping for some clarity tomorrow.

Three nights after my first Pfizer injection I woke up with vertigo. Dizziness and balance problems diminished over the next 4 weeks when I had the second injection. Three nights later I had a huge increase in dizziness and balance problems. Now 9 weeks later. Rehabilitation exercises and time have helped, but I still have some dizziness and balance problems. I was tested by an audiologist who found "left caloric weakness consistent with a left peripheral vestibular hypofuntion...the overt corrective saccades for left semicircular canal stimulation are also consisted with left peripheral hypofunction." It seems there was some inner ear damage. I am concerned about the effect a booster vaccine may have.

I've been so grateful to find this site... I spent hours looking for any sort of confirmation or reassurance from any sort of study/news/CDC release/ANYTHING that will officially confirm the vaccine will cause this vertigo and extreme dizziness up to 2 weeks later after the shot.

My wife has been suffering for about a week now. April 17th she got her first Moderna shot and about last weekend this extreme dizziness and nausea started, and has yet to go away. She's miserable. Most places say "oh that's only something that could happen within the first two days," something that only terrified us further because we're then left wondering which of the millions of possible other issues could be to blame. Then we found here and sure enough. The posts here describe EXACTLY what is happening to her. She at times describes it as almost a feeling of being drunk. The morning is the worst and so far she always vomits to start off the day. Fast movements absolutely are off limits. I'm so scared that this won't go away for her.

As for my experience I got off much luckier but I do also have some occasional dizzy spells, I had maybe one today and I was able to, not literally, shake it off.

My main concern is my wife more than anything. This is the only place that has given us some hope about this. Thank all of you for sharing your experiences and timelines...

I hope your wife has reported this to VAERS.  My hope is that if enough people report this and enough doctors have enough people presenting with these horrible side effects, and reporting it, that it will finally be taken seriously and looked into.  Nobody should have to go through this.

Furthermore, people should be warned that this is a possibility BEFORE they agree to the vaccine, and that isn't happening.

@bobh

I hope you do get in to see someone at Mayo. It will be important to get a good evaluation and treatment plan. Hang in there and keep us updated.

My story might be a bit long. I'm 73, I was diagnosed around 7 years ago with nerve damage in my right inner ear caused by a possible virus. My GP calls it Meniere's, my ENT calls it Vestibular Neuritis, I call it constant vertigo. Some days worse than other's, but it's 24-7, along with moderate Tinnitus. I got my first Pfizer vaccine on 3-19-21. I felt a little "woozier" than my usual norm for about a week? But then I got my second vaccine on 4-9-21 and was told by the pharmacist that I might feel a little light-headed about 5-10 minutes after I received it. She was right. The problem is it has yet to go away. I find it very difficult to get around, mild nausea, very dizzy! In the meantime, my left ear started hurting pretty bad. That ear has been sensitive to cold air and things like earplugs for a few years now. Anyway, I was diagnosed with swimmers ear and had to use the antibiotic ear drops with no effect? I went to a stat-care and was examined and told I have an ear infection and was prescribed Bactrim for 10 days. On the 9th day, I had an appointment with my Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor and he said that the infection had cleared up and I can quit taking the antibiotic. We discussed my situation and he said it could be a delayed reaction to the vaccine and said it should gradually clear up and to see my dentist for possible ill-fitting dentures? Since then I had another visit with my GP and he basically said the same thing. In the meantime he suggested I take Meclizine, which I normally take only when needed, several times a day along with Mucinex to try to relieve the pressure I'm feeling, which seemed reasonable? My problem is my ear pain still comes and goes, along with the whole left side of my head hurting, my Tinnitus is in high gear, and just getting up and walking is a crapshoot at best!! If this doesn't start "clearing up" soon it's going to make me question if getting the vaccine was really worth it?? Having to walk with a cane is not my style. I'm an outdoor person living on a farm, light work, hunting, and so on. I've seen other people on this thread having similar problems and was wondering how long this will last???

@isismadec yes, we both have reported this via VAERS, hopefully as more and more do, they will speak up about this.
