Can I ask a favor?Β Some of us are going through a difficult time trying to navigate these new side effects and we come here daily for support and to see if others are improving from when they first reported.Β I've noticed that some people on this page have not had the vaccine, but want to comment on the dangers and lack of testing, etc.Β At this point, these comments are not helpful to people experiencing the side effects.Β Please, if you would keep the comments factual to your experience and if you are improving and what has helped.Β Β
@isismadec Hi dragonlover, What you have been through sounds an absolute nightmare, I can only imagine how debilitating it must have been for you all these years. I hope that new drug will be available for you soon. 🙏
This article seemed terrible. I hope that our problem will solve itself with time but reading these kinds of articles make me really sad and frustrated... 😵
I hope that this will be not a permanent problem.
I'm not going to read the article.Β These side effects are enough to deal with, without scary new information to dwell on while I'm home recovering.
Hmmm, we were trying to be responsible people, but we ended up being "lab rats"! Yeah, I've felt like I got bitten by something I didn't even know had teeth!
🤔 The more I research, the more I come across cautions in the medical articles about things unknown to watch out for! A whole different flavour than the cheery news articles encouraging vaccination and carefully worded assurances of safety in the CDC publications.
My ENT consult today volunteered that they had seen others affected by the vaccines. I was glad I didn't have to be the pioneering patient seen by them.
It seems we're hearing that Covid infection can result in almost limitless types of symptoms. It would not surprise me that Covid vaccination will also eventually be known for a wide array of effects.Β

What you and others here have gone through is very much like what we who have Meniere's go through.Β The disease does go in and out of remission so there there was actually a lot of time that I was as normal as anyone else.Β And some who have it go through much worse than I have.Β The drug currently in trials is the only one to date that has made it to Phase 3 trials, so keeping fingers crossed.
@thenystagmus my view as well. It is almost like we have or had some symptoms of covid 19 without the respiratory involvement. Β I have asthma (do flonase diskus and spiriva inhalation daily to keep it under control) so if this vaccine was to affect the most weak part of my body, it would have been my lung and yet Β I had no respiratory problems with this. I have no history of vertigo, dizziness or migraines.
Because the dizziness I had (no nausea) was much more mild than people reporting here, I had already made up my mind that this was certainly vaccine related and had no desire to seek medical help. Β If my symptoms were worse, I most certainly would have consulted a physician to get anti-inflammatory prescription since I cannot take any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory meds like ibuprofen due to drug allergy which causes hives with this class of meds.
I reported my symptoms to Vaers as well as Pfizer. Β My symptoms are all gone and glad I am vaccinated. Β I am hoping that all of you who are having problems now will soon find relief with time.Β
I am not surprised that CDC has not mentioned these problems. Β I think their concern now is to get most people quickly vaccinated and deal with more severe vaccine related problems such as blood clots, deaths, etc. Β

Thanks for your response! It's just surprising to me that some go so far as to theorize that Covid is an autoimmune disease. I'm just beginning to understand what that means. Crazy that our body can get confused about what to marshal its defense measures towards and launch an attack on parts of itself? I guess that's one of the guesses about what may have happened to some of our inner ears? My ENT wants to schedule an ENG to try to find out more about possible damage in mine before making treatment recommendations.
I hope your daughter has an easier time this go round and I'm glad you're improving! Thanks for the encouragement 😊
@thenystagmus What worries me right now, knowing what we are going through, is young people getting the vaccine and some of them experiencing the same. I am so worried for my daughter who is fit and healthy with a good job and totally independent. If this should happen to her I would be devastated. 🙏

@SassafrasΒ Β Β Yes.Β I am seeing the same thing.Β One thing I've noticed is the PSAs telling people to get vaccinated have changed.Β At first they were going on about the "minimal" side effects in those PSAs.Β Now the PSAs are simply saying "get vaccinated" and nothing more.Β Β Hmmm......
It has been 6 weeks since my first moderna vaccine. The first 3 days after, my arm was so sore I couldnβt even lift it. About 1-1/2 weeks later, I began having horrible headaches, neck pain and vertigo. I have never had vertigo before and thought I was going crazy. I went to urgent care, not knowing it could be related to the vaccine. He prescribed me medication that just made me more dizzy. I decided not to get the 2nd shot 4 weeks later, my headaches and neck pain are somewhat better but the vertigo is still there when I go to bed and get up. I finally went to a neurologist, doing some tests but I think he is convinced it was the vaccine. Praying for everyone we get some relief.

How have you been lately?Β Has the neurologist offered any new info?

I am doing better, no dizziness any more of fogginess, but tinnitus does not go away. I had prednizon for 6 days prescribed by the ENT, did three times accupancture, hyropractor, take all kind of supplements. I think tinnitus is not really treatable and it is very sad. Yes, my teaching ends in a months. Actually it does help to go through my frustration. From no pills healthy woman I became permanently sick.
How are you doing?
Hi Thelma, You've been busy! I'm glad some of your symptoms are diminishing and I hope the tinnitus will also. It is really hard to suddenly find yourself being sick and needing to do a bunch of things to take care of yourself, especially when you're used to being a help to others instead. I have a son that's had 45+ surgeries, so I learned to be a caretaker for him ...now I'm learning to do the same for myself. I'm a lot better - I've gone from 10/10 vertigo, nystagmus, nausea, vomiting, etc... to 2-3/10 dizziness, nausea, sinus pressure, episodes of sore throat and neck glands. I'm seeing some improvement with vestibular therapy exercises and I hope I'll get some good input from the ENT I consulted today. Next up, I need to read up on the EMG he wants me to get. Blessings!
Praying for all of you and hope you find restored health soon.Β Β
I found this article I wanted to share about a Canadian Doctor reporting adverse neurological side effects from the Covid Vaccine:Β

Wow, thank you! I would recommend reading this article you posted! This sounds like the category of some of the things some of us are going through. If reports like this help less common side effects (like ours/others?) to be acknowledged, then resources could be directed towards understanding and developing treatment protocols for us and many others!Β
Post Epley maneuver 4 hours and 25% better with dizziness and hearing in left ear. I also feel less pressure on my face and head. I previously tried the maneuver at home but was not executing properly. The PT completed the maneuver and showed me the proper way in about 12 minutes. I will continue w 600mg ibuprofen 3x a day and see how I feel in next 36 hours. I was also showed VOR exercises with eyes that help your vestibular fluid adjust to current condition. This is done 3x a day for several weeks. Similar to how pilots adjust to centrifugal force. Β Itβs an adapting exercise not a correcting exercise. Fluid may be different in each ear there by the exercise helps adjust for different fluid viscosity. Will update soonu
Been following since March, first post. Healthy, active 59/female, 10 yr history of occasional vestibular disturbance/dizziness. Never given actual diagnosis. Presumed BPPV always resolved. I've always taken flu shots with no reactions. Moderna shot#1 Feb 11, sore arm. Shot #2 March 11. Woke 3AM with nausea and vomiting that continued and I passed out while vomiting and hit my head on tile bathroom floor. I called the pharmacist in the morning to report what happened and she said she would make a report. Went to ER. Was told I had a vasovagal syncope episode related to stress and vomiting, Dr wasn't concerned abt head injury, no head CT, normal EKG and labs, was hydrated, given phenergan and had a few hrs of fever and chills and was back home that afternoon. Felt a bit loggy the next 10 days, mild post head injury feeling but pretty good all things considered. Day 11 woke with extreme vertigo like I've never had. Walked into my closet and collapsed on the floor. Return ER visit to rule out connection to head injury. CT scan normal. Doc told me suspected I had an inflammatory response to vaccine that sent BPPV into motion. Sent home w/diazepam and referred to neurology. Dizziness, fatigue and weirdness continued but no extreme vertigo. At home head maneuvers didn't help. Before getting into neurology I asked my primary for a medrol pack. Finished with no noticeable benefit. I've had 2 visits with a Neurophysiologist specializing in vestibular disorders. He suspects an immune response from the vaccine that caused a latent virus activation in the inner ear which is causing all these symptoms. Prescribed another course of Medrol pack and 10 days of Acyclovir and magnesium supplements, which I already take. I havent noticed alot of improvement. Dr feels that since my symptoms are stabilized that I've averted any possible further damage to the vestibular nerve. I'm directed to pursue vestibular PT and I have a good therpist for that who really gets this disorder. GOOD NEWS alert! I continue to be functional with modifications and breaks throughout the day. I am a avid gardener but I have to adjust how much I push myself. Surprisingly I can play a round of golf which i doing as therapy! Other types of visual stimulation disturb me/make me nauseous/dizzyish. I'm pushing myself to takes walks again. I'm lasar focused on my diet and taking all the supplements that have been recommended on this forum. I'm using diazepam 2mg, VERY little. A few times a week at most if I've pushed too much and become overwhelmed. I'm sober (12 yrs) and can't play with alcohol or meds. I'm willing accept life on life's terms. I am grateful to be fully vaccinated! My Dr continues to remind me that he has patients with COVID virus who have gotten extremely ill. I obviously wish this wasn't happening but I have an open mind and believe we will heal. There's been alot of suffering for so many people this last year on so many levels. I try to keep this all in perspective.Β
