@txcs714

I wish I could answer your question, but I just don’t know. Thank you for sharing your story. Every story I read on here assures me I’m not alone (or plain crazy) in my battle which is weeks long. They do however give me a lot of empathy and compassion for my fellow vaccine related sufferers. Hopefully someone out there can answer your question. Hang in there and don’t give up. Thanks again for sharing. ❤️🙏❤️

@elton I’m at 6 weeks of dizziness.  It started 1 week after my first shot. I’ve been having such anxiety over this whole ordeal. I bought sea bands today to see if that helps. Every single day I’m sick. Praying for tomorrow to be the day I wake up not dizzy.

@athrift03 I’m at week 6. After reading your post it calmed me down. I’ve been having the panic attacks and anxiety heart palpitations and the horrible dizziness.  I’m praying for everyone.  I wish the word could get out about the struggles of the Covid vaccine. My dr doesn’t think my issues are from the shot. I know they are. I just want to have a good day. Oh and I cry a lot. I can’t take much more of this. I’m so happy I found this group.

I’m so happy to have found this forum! Like many here, I’m having similar side effects. I’m 41, and overall in good health.
I received the Pfizer vaccine #1 on 04/04, within an hour my face went numb on the left side and lasted for about 10 hours. I slept and felt better in the morning, but still called the doctor. He said I seemed fine and it’s okay to get the 2nd shot.
Then on 04/10 I crashed hard. I felt incredibly nauseous, dizzy, loss of appetite, weak and fatigued, (couldn’t walk without support), chills/sweats, sinus/pressure headache and ringing in my ears. These symptoms went in waves with varying levels of discomfort (some days were really bad) for approx. 3 weeks.
On 04/20 I went to another doctor and they did a bunch of blood tests and recommended I see and ENT (blood tests came back fine). Luckily I was saw an ENT that same day, did a bunch of tests and was diagnosed with tinnitus. The doc gave me prednisone (40mg for 4 days) “in case there was inflammation,” but it didn’t really help.
On 04/25 I was scheduled for my second shot, but after talking to the doctor at the vaccination site, I went to urgent care to get a Covid test (the doctor said my symptoms sounded like it could be Covid). My test results were negative but the doctor there diagnosed me with vertigo, prescribed me Furosemide (7 days) and Meclizine, also referred me to a neurologist. Note sure if these helped or if it was just time that helped but I started to feel less symptoms.
On 05/03 the neurologist ran a bunch of tests including an EEG, ultrasound and Dix-Hallpike, all are thankfully clear.
As of today, 05/10, I still have vertigo, tinnitus, and sinus headaches but it’s not as bad as it was. I’m really hoping it phases out and things will go back to normal.
I was feeling so much better on 05/07 that I went to get the second vaccine.  However, the doctor at the vaccination site refused to give it to me saying she wanted medical clearance due to the numbness. She specifically said she wasn’t concerned with the vertigo and tinnitus as they aren’t life threatening.
At this point, I’m on the fence about getting the second shot (she scared me about the numbness). did anyone else also experience this?
I am a big believer in vaccines and worry that I won’t be able to travel, go to restaurants, concerts, etc. if I don’t finish the doses. But I’m terrified that I will feel worse and this could be permanent. If anyone does go through with the second dose, I’d love to hear how it went!
Good luck to everyone out there, I hope you feel better soon!

Hi

What happened with your dizziness? I am experiencing what you describe after my first dose. I had it 9 days ago. The dizziness has been lingering but just got triggered by having a video call and now I am in bed experiencing some light sensitivity. I don't have a vestibular issue as far as I know apart from one I had for a few months after getting caught in a sea squal which banged my head around a bit.

I also had very low BP symptoms a few days ago. I have fever and chills, but not super high temp. i am scared to get 2nd dose as nobody I know had anything like this so I'd love to know if yours went after the 2nd dose and how long it took?

@michaelk

It is very rudimentary.  I have taken the recovery times for those who have listed the amount of time from when they first showed symptoms to a full recovery.  I've been averaging the amount of time.

Hello Everyone,

I had my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine March 27. In less than 24 hours later I experienced Vertigo-like symptoms, a condition I had never had. I experienced extreme dizziness when laying down with my head to the right. Other aggravations were extending my head forward or backwards. After 5 days of positional dizziness my doctor suggested that “coincidentally” these symptoms followed the vaccine but in case there was some allergic response he prescribed an antihistamine. I had read about the Epley Manoeuvre and he agreed that it might be of some benefit if the medication didn’t work. I took the antihistamine for a week without any change. April 23, I went to a physiotherapist who specialized in Vertigo. His office has received other similar reports to mine of vertigo-symptoms following the vaccine. He assessed me and determined that the Epley Manoeuvre was appropriate for the cause of my vertigo. He diagnosed me with BPPV. One treatment (Epley Manoeuvre) relieved the majority of my symptoms. Afterward he carefully instructed me, he told me to continue with the Manoeuvre 3 times a day for the next few days until the dizziness was completely gone. Within 4 days I was symptom-free. I remain symptom-free to date. I am ever so grateful to Venkhat (my physiotherapist). I told myself that regardless of how this turned out, I would have the second dose of the vaccine (projected for July) because the alternative is more frightening to me. I am otherwise a healthy 71 year old and feel I’d rather live with a form of Vertigo than the aftermath of any form of COVID-19. After my second dose I will update you. I know this treatment may not be right for everyone, but maybe a physiotherapist can help some of you too. Best of luck in your recoveries!

@cbell

I'm taking the amount of time from when a person begins to experience symptoms to a full recovery, then I average the  time.  I note the name and the length of time so that I do not duplicate the entry.

So, I wanted to tell my experience to see if others may have received similar bloodwork. I got my first Pfizer shot beginning of March. I had just a sore arm, but two weeks later began to experience periodic dizziness, diarrhea and mild chest pain. This may be TMI but My weekly cycle was super heavy to the point I thought I was going to bleed to death. I have never had that happen in my entire life. I got bloodwork done and was told my white blood cell count and iron stores were low and we should recheck in a month.

I got my second shot end of March and had a horrific time- fever of 104, horrible body aches and debilitating chills. I recovered from that in 36 hours but continued to have the dizziness, chest pain and diarrhea. It got so bad at one point I ended up in urgent care because I almost passed out from the dizziness. I had a normal EKG and stool culture there

I went in to retest my bloodwork about 4 weeks after my second dose while all these symptoms were still occurring. My white blood cells were even lower, my iron stores were almost gone and I received a positive ANA test that looks to see if I have antibodies that would indicate an autoimmune response. Prior to this I did not have an autoimmune condition.

It has been 10 weeks since my first dose. My diarrhea is finally subsiding and with it the chest pain. The dizziness is probably 75% better. I am very concerned that the things we are experiencing are not due to inflamed vestibular nerves but more of an autoimmune reaction. It has been said that Covid is an “autoimmune disease” and that long Covid May actually be an autoimmune response as up to 50% of those hospitalized with Covid had a positive ANA according to research articles I have read.

I wonder how many of us with these symptoms after vaccination  may test positive for ANA on bloodwork. I am now being referred to hematology and rheumatology. If it is autoimmune related this could have long term consequences that concern me.

Hi emmak, You've had a hard course! I'm glad you're starting to have some improvement. Thank you for sharing your experience. I also got vaccinated in early March and started vestibular symptoms 2 days later. I'm better, but still have lingering issues. When I was getting a sinus x-ray this morning, I shut my eyes while trying to stand still for it. Weirdly, I immediately started tipping over towards my affected side, showing me how much I'm using my vision to compensate. I'm waiting on ANA and immunoglobulin results (among other tests) to check on possible autoimmune issues post-vaccine. I had not heard about 50% of hospitalized Covid patients having a positive ANA. My general tests so far showed my only abnormal results were Vitamin D deficiency and thyroid tests (had been normal for years off med) a little hypo.

I'm wondering if your symptoms are due to reaction to your vaccination, if you could see an improvement in your blood test results as time goes on? I once had a borderline ANA titer many years ago following a prolonged very physically stressful time followed by some concerning symptoms, but then my test was normal later on. If I were to get a positive ANA titer now, I would want to put it in the "hoping to get better again" category. I have read that it's good to have a rheumatologist involved for this.

I also wonder and suspect there's a good chance that these longer term post vaccine reactions are going to become largely known as autoimmune reactions. And with relationships being drawn in that direction for long Covid patients, maybe what they learn in studying and learning to help them will come to be able to be used for our benefit also? I will post here after I get my recent blood tests back. I also hope to hear back from you as you learn more also. 🙏 for us all
