@mm824 Not sure how to post on this forum but wanted to add my story. Had my second Moderna vaccine in February. 10 days later, March 4, my vertigo began. Vertigo, tinnitus, and brain fog that are 24/7. Nothing makes them better. I have tried prednisone, Meclizine, the motion sickness patch, Maxalt, and am now convinced this is a side effect of the vaccination. I have been unable to work. I teach high school and the lights, the noise, the screens, the vertigo are all to much for me. And, I can't seem to put two sentences together anyway. I have no idea if this is permanent or if it will go away. It has almost been 4 weeks. I am furious. If vertigo had been listed as a possible side effect, I would not have gotten the shot because I have vestibular migraines and would not have messed with it. I'm hoping for solutions soon. I plan to go to the ER and refuse to leave if they can't give me answers.

@jwblue

I turned 71 after i got my first Moderna. 2 days after my birthday i got that unbearable vertigo. I do not take pills, swim 1 km laps in the swimming pool then 30 min of aerobics. I actually see that a lot of healthy people are in this forum.

I'm so glad to have found this forum as I was starting to think I was crazy. I am a 27 year old female healthy, mom of 2. I am 5'1 and about 110lbs. I thought it was because of my size maybe? But I got my 1st dose of Moderna on March 6th. I felt fine just sore arm. 2 days later I went to work and felt suddenly dizzy and felt like I was going to passout. I went home then went to the ER as I got scared and my bbm was 144. They just said I was dehydrated and just hydrate when I get my 2nd dose. Went to my PCP and just gave me medicine for heart palpitations, which I didn't take because it went away with rest. I went back to work the following week and was feeling a sense of dizziness again and got scared.

What I have done to continue working is taking a dramamine 30min before work and its very mild. I went to my doctor and said I have vertigo and still get the 2nd dose. I'm so scared. Currently work at a grocery store because I lost my teaching job due to Covid but have an opportunity to go back to my teaching job but the vaccine might be a requirement

Has anyone else felt better after the second dose? I'm just scared since I'm so young with 2 small children to suddenly have this issue.

I did have migraines 2 years ago but they went away after my 2nd pregnancy.

@miriama Hi Miriam - Feel so bad for you! Do you feel the Prednisone helped at all? I am feeling like that is my last resort. I am dosing pretty well on the vitamin C as some here have suggested. I tried the ibuprofen and I think it made it worse! Got super sick that day.
2 ENT visits were pretty much nothing burgers! they did all kind of tests and nothing really showed. Not BPPV vertigo and the basic take was that "if" it was the vaccine that caused all this dizziness and tinnitus that it "should" go away. ENT gave me these Cawthorne-Cooksey exercises to do. Did those for two days and not sure if it was the cause, but I wound up having a major dizzy, non stop vomiting episode that put me in the hospital again! The did cat-scan, MRI, bloodwork, EKG - all good! They basically gave me anti nausea meds and Vallium in the hospital - which I insisted they give me scripts for so I can self medicate if it starts to get bad so I don't wind up in hospital again. Dr prescribed Meclizine 25 mg 4 times a day for 5 days but I am continuing to take 3 times a day now - a week later - and I hate taking meds!! I hate taking pills! They also said I should try physical therapy. Went two days ago and did a bunch of exercises similar to the Cawthorne-Cooksey and had a rough night! Super dizzy all night so I took my Mec, Vallium, Zofran cocktail and it seemed to help some. Just going to continue on the Meclizine for a while but I do not want to take long term.
Long story... but I am going on week 9 now. I have good days and bad days. Little dizzy waves all day and some a bit stronger. I have a few good days and think it is finally going away and bam! flat on my ass. I am finding it hard to work some days. Fortunately, I am working remotely from home now so can lie down when I need to. I have constant tinnitus mostly on my left side- some days worse than others.
I was happy to find this forum to hear about how others are dealing and treating this and I am 100% convinced that this was caused by the vaccine!
Hope you get better quickly! I am finding some hope in that others are getting better in a couple to few weeks. I just want this to be over already!! I am tired, exhausted, sick of taking pills, and getting depressed. I go nowhere except take nice walks with my dog. Sitting outside on nice days the tinnitus seems less invasive. Fresh air and sunshine are my kind of medicine!
(For info - I am a 65 yr old, female, fairly healthy, no underlying conditions, no past vestibular issues although I do suffer from occasional migraines. Symptoms started 4-5 days after first vaccine. Got second one on doctor recommendation, no change after second vaccine)

6 Supplements That Fight Inflammation - Healthline

My vertigo went away ( it was a vaccine side effect) one month later- I was taking Alphalipoic acid & reversitrol (sp) both were on the list.  I know fish oil is great, but it does not agree with me ( repeats) unless it’s from Iceland

Thank you so much for sharing!  I was inspired to dig into the details after reading these posts.  I also had dizziness, vertigo after my first Pfizer vaccine on 2/15.  I am a healthy 55 female and only take multi vitamins.  My side effects are related to the vaccine and it basically took 6 weeks for 90 percent of the side effects to go away.  I had a blood draw on 3/9 and my histamines were on the high side of the normal range.  Elevated histamines can cause many of the symptoms we are discussing.  My body was reacting to an allergen from the vaccine that may be PEG.  72 percent of us have antibodies to PEG already from cosmetics, some medical tape etc.  On Tues I found an allergist in my area that does PEG testing. I am pushing off my second dose of Pfizer until I know if I have a reaction to PEG. I had a vein procedure a few years ago and broke out from a rash where the medical tape was.  I had to put steroid cream to get rid of it and no one knew why I had the rash.  Finally put two and two together that PEG may have been the culprit.
I believe your best bet to get answers is to schedule an appointment with an allergist that can do PEG testing.  Hope everyone feels well soon!

@susanfeuerstein

Did you buy Alphalipoic acid & reversitrol (sp) in a supplement form and where? I almost don’t want to say that Im feeling a tiny bit better after taking garlic, fish oil and 1,000 mg of vit C. Not sure it would work so fast but have been taking this for 3 days. I would love to add these as well. This is my 6th week after my second shot and Im just tired if feeling this way.

Like you i hate pills and have been healthy and active. I had my first horrible vertigo on the 10th day after the first Moderna. Then again after the second. It is the 7th week that i am not in my real me, occasional dizziness andconstant buzz in the ear, careful movements in the bed ...some pills.

@thenystagmus

It appears herpes virus related issues are happening

From the National Institute of Health (NIH)

Given the expedited production of the vaccine and the novelty associated with its production, there may be information pertaining to side effects and individual response that remain to be discovered. Since both the Moderna and Pfizer Vaccine trials reported Bell’s Palsy as medically attended adverse events, the association between vaccine administration and onset of symptomatic Bell’s Palsy may warrant further investigation.

I was hospitalized for severe dizziness on day 12 after my first Moderna Covid vaccination.  I have never had vertigo or vestibular issues before this occurred. And I have never had a severe reaction to a vaccination.  The day after receiving both the first and second Moderna vaccination, I had chills, body aches, headache but that passed the following day and I was fine.  Day 12 after the first shot brought about severe dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and I was hospitalized for 2 days. CT scan, MRI, blood work all fine. It has now been 2 months and I still have balance issues with dizziness.  I am now in Physical Therapy trying to find some relief.  So far it is not working.  I feel without a doubt that this dizziness is an extreme side effect from my covid moderna vaccination.
