Pfizer Shot

Tuesday 23-Mar-2021 5:30 PM

I almost fainted within 10 seconds, was asked to sit for 15 mins. Was able to walk out

9:30 PM - Nausea, Vomit and feeling of intoxication, no headache yet. Called Pfizer Adverse Event reporting helpline and they told to go to ER if in life threatening situation or go to PCP if situation doesn't approve in 3 days

Next morning was horrible, had dizziness, headache and a drowsy feeling.

Nausea continued for few days. Unable to sleep the night of Sat-Sun (27-28). Sleep pattern is disturbed and I have been having trouble sleeping in since then. Some nights are better than others. Can't sleep on right side, have to sleep on left side.

As on 7-Apr, I am able to do most of daily work but feel weak.  I feel I am 80% recovered, have PCP appointment today. Haven't decided on second dose, have moved it out and rescheduled to 27-Apr.

Came across this site using google search. Felt a sense of comfort that I am not alone, but I feel for everyone.

Has anyone been able to recover completely after first shot, before they went for second shot ? Appreciate your response.

@thenystagmus

thank you so much. I’m so happy to have found this forum and your support and input are very comforting. We were visiting our daughter and family for the first time since last May when our side effects manifested themselves. We didn’t immediately connect the dots and our daughter was very worried about our fatigue and lethargic condition. When I told her we found this site where others were suffering the same, she was as thankful as we are to know that our ailments should improve. We just returned home yesterday April 6 and both feel a bit better today. Our last shot was on March 17. Fingers crossed this goes away for all of us and we don’t become vaccine “long haulers”.

Had my 2nd Pfizer shot 7 days ago.  A slight fever (99) 2 hours later, but that was it, I felt fine... 5 days later I woke up extremely dizzy... I haven't experienced anything like this before and hopes it goes away soon.  It's been 2 days of dizziness... It's very bad in the morning and I can't exercise and am not comfortable driving 🙁

I had my 2nd Moderna vaccine on February 10th. I had a terrible reaction - massive migraine like headache, fever over 101, achy and vomited overnight. Woke up the next morning with vertigo. I've never had vertigo in my life so this was terrifying. I couldn't even sit up without the room spinning. The other side effects went away within 48 hours, but the vertigo persists. It's now 2 months later and I'm still struggling with vertigo. I can't get rid of it. I'm able to sit up now with minor dizziness, take walks, but I still spin when I'm lying down and turning my head from side to side. Can't bend over without dizziness and I'm easily fatigued. The Epley maneuver just makes me worse, sick to my stomach and sets back any recovery. I've tried Bonine for the dizziness, Ginko Biloba at my doctor's recomendation, acupuncture. Nothing helps. I reported this to both Moderna and NAERS so it's documented, but there's been no follow up.

Just had a response I wanted to share from my hairdresser when she contacted me about an upcoming appointment and I shared what I believe are my husband’s and my response to the second Pfizer shot. She asked me if we have had a Covid test since completing our vaccinations. I said no and she reminded me that people can get the virus even if they have been vaccinated. So I’m curious if anyone on this thread has been tested and has tested positive for the virus since having both vaccinations.

@hollyd I've had the same issue - PT makes it much worse and I notice my neck and shoulder muscles get really tight so I've been using hot and cold packs too. Just when I think I'm improving, it comes back and I can't point to anything triggering it. I too have altered my diet significantly. Very little caffeine, no dairy, anti-inflammatory diet. Went through vestibular testing. Waiting on results. It's so frustrating and feels like it's never going to end.

Yes, I also had the maderna shot and had no side effects until the second shot.  I had the second shot on 23rd of March and was felling good until the morning of the 28 the of March as I woke up in the morning, I could not get out of bed. I was so dizzy I had to get help to get out of bed.  It also made me sick to my stomach.  I've had the dizziness every morning since but not as bad as the first time. I have a Dr. appointment tomorrow.

@artyonet I read that a steroid pack can help.

@hollyd Thanks Holly! I did get a call back from my clinic today - my neck lymph nodes are within normal on ultrasound as the US tech had told me. And my APRN agreed to refer me to vestibular therapy, even asked if I knew where I'd like to go. For that, I'm taking the advice of the physical therapist at the elementary school I used to work at. Reading about it I expect the testing to be challenging, and if therapy seems to be indicated I read it may make me feel worse initially and take a month or two to seem to help. I also delved deeper into some of the info on and linked to the VEDA site here and saw that some of those that push to move more improve as much as 4 times faster, so I will do that. I have been doing a lot worse again for several days now, vertigo and nystagmus even waking me up repeatedly last night. I've never been sure which ear my issues may be coming from, but I've begun to wonder if both my ears are now involved. So, I'm hoping to get any info that testing can give me, even though I don't expect it to be cheap, easy or pleasant. Thanks again; I hope you're having a good day!

  • I had my first Pfizer COVID vaccine at 4:30 pm on January 11th.  I woke up at 3:30 am January 13th with severe vertigo.
  • I could not move my head enemy slightly without feeling like I was in the center of a tornado.
  • My husband took me to the ER and I was put on Antivert, and referred to an ENT.
  • It is now April 7th and I have had an MRI with contrast, two shots of Kenalog and am living on Antivert 24/7.
  • I am being referred to a neurologist. Along with the vertigo I have tinnitus, and a throbbing right ear.
  • Even on the Antivert, I can barely walk a straight line.
  • I just want to get back to living a normal life.
  • Best of wishes to anyone else going through this horrendous experience!

@rawbo1

I'm curious if you're still having dizziness and brain zaps. That's exactly what happened to me for 2 weeks post 2nd dose and then it went away for 2-3 weeks and now it's back. Any advice?

I am also a PT and have literally had the exact same experience as you! My 2nd dose was on 1/14. I had those symptoms but they abruptly stopped on 2/1 - but now they're back! It's so weird! I have vertigo (when I lay down) and kind of a heavy feeling in my head. This started back around the beginning of March so I had symptoms 2 weeks, then nothing for about a month, and now symptoms again for the past 2 weeks. Super frustrating. Did your symptoms stay gone? I hope so! Take care.

I had my 2nd moderna shot on March 8th, day 2 had minor symptoms, arm swollen, hurt, & later that day ached all over, took a couple of Aleve, went to bed early & felt fine the following day. 10 days later started off as s as normal day, got in my car to go to go to my office suddenly double vision & still dealing with this. I’m a healthy individual, no underlying conditions, I take synthroid every day due to no thyroid, that’s it. Gone to opthamologist, primary Dr, several different tests set up for next wk trying to get to the bottom of this. So dibilitating!

@isismadec

I surmise that those of us that with  migraines and vestibular abnormalities might attract some post vaccine weakness in our prime areas of headaches and dizziness. When my husband had like symptoms it puzzled me and I thought about the vaccine more seriously.
