@ksmith how are you doing now? I'm 3 weeks from 1st vaccine and started having balance issues. Does it go away? Thank you, Stacy [email protected]Β

Vertigo started three weeks after the first shot on March 1. It went away after seven days. Got the second shot April fifth. Vertigo started again the next day April 6. Vertigo spells stopped April 11 and then consistent dizziness disequilibrium started April 11 in the evening so bad that I need a cane to wobble around. Β I can’t walk my dog. Can’t play with my kids and can barely work. I’ve been taking vitamin c Β  No help. I may go to ER tomorrow if nothing changes. Really depressed about it.Β

Hi Everyone - Just joined today after finding this website.Β  I got my 1st Pfizer vaccine April 3rd.Β  The following Wednesday, had my first vertigo spell and been dizzy and having brain fog ever since.Β  Are ya'll reporting your symptoms to to CDC?Β  I emailed my Dr and all he said was everyone reacts different and I should get the 2nd dose, but I'm very concerned I will feel worse.Β  For those of you that had these symptoms with your first shot, did you still get the 2nd dose and how are you feeling??Β  10 days out and I can't take this dizziness much longer. 🤢Β

On 3/13, 12 days after receiving the 2nd Moderna Vaccine, I awoke up with terrible vertigo. I was seen at Urgent Care. I had elevated BP (usually low). I was given meclizine and told I should go to the ER. Urgent care thought the problem was BPPV. I saw my internist the next day who started me on prednisone and hypertension med. The vertigo, muscle aches and general malaise persisted. I am allergic to many meds and could not complete the prednisone course. I have no medical problems except allergies, particularly to mold, trees, grasses. I have been taking sublingual allergy drops x4 years with significant improvement.Β

I had a virtual visit with an ENT who made referral to PT for the EPLEY procedure. I had 3 procedures and the vertigo resolved but still with lightheadedness, fatigue and generally feeling unwell. I thought the BP med I was on could be causing the dizziness. I have changed med and high BP persists.

Long story, it is 31 days since my first symptoms. When I resume normal activities,(I am normally very active) I relapse, with such dizziness, poor balance and malaise that I am afraid to drive, exercise, garden, read. I have taken Benadryl and just sit quietly hoping this will go away.

I cannot get in to PT for another week. Any ideas would be appreciated.

@tabby

The thrombosis doc thought I would be on blood thinners for a longtime. Now dealing with chaffed skin from swollen leg Β and ankle/foot. Trying to prevent infection.

Had a strange and ironic thought the other night about dying, NOT from Covid but from the vaccine taken to PROTECT me from catching Covid!

@chels8957

I'm a 70 year old female in Ohio. I had my J&J vaccine on April 1, and now 12 days later I'm still feeling very unwell. My sinuses feel much fuller than normal (I do have chronic sinusitis, with occasional vertigo, complicated by narrow sinus passages and fluid that occasionally gathers in my right ear, causing the moderate to severe vertigo, [when severe, I can't even keep water down]...Since vaccine I've had more frequent sinus headaches and my nose seems to run off and on, even after taking my sudafed and or benadryl. I've had to take my meclizine every day...I'm quite dizzy upon sitting up from prone position or standing up. My arm is still painful and swollen, I feel very achy, quite like I'm in first stages of the flu. I only had a low grade fever the day after vaccine. I'm really now thinking I need to see the Dr. for an exam. I'm concerned about the blood clot factor and certainly don't want or need a blood clot!Β

Thank you for sharing. I'll post further after results from Dr. visit. Stay well and God bless you!

@arthur

Β

I almost forgot to mention that I am now more sensitive to bright light than usual and my right leg is very achy, crampy and swollen, especially right at knee and above.

@luann777

Yes, I have had heart palpitations and increased heart rate for 3 weeks now starting the first day after I received the J & J. Β I experienced left ear pain also starting the same day but it has since resolved. Β

Hi Everyone,Β

Has anyone who had tinnitus (the only symptom I have) after the first vaccine got the second one?

I am scheduled to get my second one today. My ENT did say that after consulting with his colleagues and doing some research he did not find any link between the covid vaccine and tinnitus. He did say though that I could wait a couple of months to get the second one if I want. So I'm a bit lost at what to do as someone who is in their 20s who is supposed to be going back to in-person classes in the fall.Β

I am lucky in that my ENT did confirm that I do not have any hearing loss from my tinnitus. I am still unsure however if the vaccine is really what caused my tinnitus as I didn't really notice it until about a few days to a week later. It gets worse when I go on runs, or do any type of strenuous activity.Β

Has anyone done anything that improves the rining?Β

Thanks!

@arthur Hello, yes it's ironic isn't it. We do our bit by getting the vaccine hoping it will make a difference but we are not warned of the paradoxical effect it can sometimes have on us. At least you are being treated now and each new day will bring you closer to a full and quick recovery. Take good care..

For my original post on Page 88 I had my dates wrong. 3/23 for first shot and 3/27 for the start of the symptoms.

The CDC and FDA has ordered a pause in the US for J&J coronavirus vaccine today over blood clotting:
