I received my first dose of Moderna in Feb. No side effects except site soreness. Eight days later experienced a brief episode of vertigo late evening. Second jab in March. Symptoms included site soreness, swollen lymph node in armpit, low grade fever and fatigue that passed in 36 hrs.  On the 8th day, I awoke with severe vertigo that would not resolve. I went to ER and was admitted, tested for stroke, and diagnosed as CPPV. I had no previous episodes. The severe vertigo lasted 12 hours, and did not respond to Epley maneuver or meclizine. It’s now a month later and I’m generally better, but still a bit unsteady.

Had my first Moderna vaccine on March 25th with no immediate side effects other than a sore injection arm that started the next day and lasted for about 3 days. On April 3rd woke up with a large red rash on the injection arm that cleared after 2 days. On April 10th, (16 days after the vaccine) I woke up as if I were drunk. I managed to keep from falling by holding onto the wall. At first, I thought maybe I was dealing with a delayed reaction to a tequila shot I had the evening before at 6 pm. However, the more I thought about it the less sense that made. I had a tequila shot with a group of friends the day earlier, early in the evening, and had been fine the rest of the evening. I drank plenty of water for the remainder of the evening and had no reaction to the tequila shot. So, now delayed drunkenness made no sense at all. The rest of the day I felt like I had a bad hangover. The drowsiness and dizziness have continued every day since. I am now going on day 9 with little relief. It's hard to pinpoint what movements bring on the dizzy spells. I guess I can say most dizzy spells happen when I am not moving at all (eg., sitting, laying down, or sleeping). A couple of days ago I had a severe one actually wake me from my sleep. I woke up petrified because my entire room was spinning for a few seconds. I had a really hard time getting back to sleep after that. My sleep has really been compromised due to the spells. The drowsiness is all day every day though. I went in to see my PCP and made it a point to point out that the only thing that has changed in recent times is my 1st Moderna vaccine. The Dr. was quick to point out that he did not believe it was vaccine-related due to the timing of my dizziness onset. I asked how he could be so sure when so little was known and due to how new the vaccine was. We had a slew of bloodwork done along with a Covid test and all came back negative. I am now scheduled for an MRI and a Neurologist visit which I believe I will pass on after finding this forum and reading about how so many others are having the same reaction I am. I have a very high deductible insurance and paying $800 out of pocket for an MRI that will probably come back negative doesn't seem like a good option for me right now. After reading all these posts I am convinced that it is a reaction to the vaccine. I am very concerned about getting the 2nd vaccine and for now, have opted to push it out a bit in hopes that the drowsiness and dizzy spells will subside

@tabby I appreciate your concern. My docs have yet to acknowledge that there is a link between the Phizer and my vertigo or my clot leading to DVT. They listen to me sometime impatiently & sometimes bemused.  When I mentioned this site, one even “there’s an awful lot of stuff on the net”. So like many others on this site, I feel that I am on my own. Yes, the docs will prescribe medications for the problem presented but beyond that—nothing.  One doc jumped to BPPV saying there is no link.  We are like orphans in the medical system. I suppose if there is one documented death from a clot that is linked to th Phizer vax and it is REPORTED in the media we will likely see a flood of reports from docs who report on the claims that are so common on this site.

@rosi-psi Hello.  I noticed you mentioned a tight feeling in your head.  Does the tight feeling also extend to your face?  I got my 2nd Pfizer jab back on Feb 14 and about 5 days ago started to get this weird feeling over my face, as thought it was puffy.  But when I look in the mirror, it isn't.  It's sort of like a tight kind of feeling, a sort of facial pressure, is how I can best describe it.

@arthur Hello Arthur, It's so annoying that doctors are in denial 're side effects of the covid vaccine. I think they are keeping low key until the vast majority have been vaccinated and then deal with the fall out later. I have spoken to my doctor and pharmacist but neither has offered any explanation for the side effects. They probably don't know yet but I am sure they are getting enough patient feedback by now to realise that something is going on. If I were you I would still voice my concerns with your doctor and get an answer from him/her with regard to your current health condition and the prospect of having another vaccine, regardless of whether your DVT was caused by the first vaccine or not. I hope they will help you make the right decision. Take care.😊

@r3020 is this just spicy food in general or cayenne that helps reduce symptoms of vertigo? I ask only because everything I eat is spicy and i have found no relief

Hey all. I’m so glad I found this forum because I’ve been struggling with some strange things since I recieved the full Moderna Vaccinations and I thought I was alone and going crazy. I’ve been vaccinated for 2 months now. My new symptoms just started to really ramp up 3 weeks ago. Of course I had the initial symptoms of being sick for 2 and 1/2 days after my second shot….but recently it started with leg aches and then it matriculated up into my upper body. My legs have since become less achy per say. Now it’s my upper body and mostly in my shoulders (more in the one I recieved the shots in), back pain, and general fatigue. Currently still dealing with the upper body ache discomfort, cold hands and feet but I noticed that I have a slight headache always and my vision has became a little blurry in one eye. The headache severity is day to day but what’s interesting now is I’m having ear ringing and sensitivity to sound. Headache seems to emulate from the back of my skull and the crown of my head. Now I’ve always had vertigo issues that come and go over time but not like this. I’ve had recent testing done across the board and I’m healthy as an OX. The other lingering piece is the fatigue after doing activities. I’m an active guy and recently my body gets really achy after I do anything super strenuous and I get tired. Also feeling a little shaky on top of everything else. FYI, I’m 41 year old male and I and my family do not go out into public unless we have to. We are extremely safe and maybe the CDC could takes some cues from us lol. Interestingly enough I called Moderna last week and reported all of what I stated above and the young lady on the phone was very kind and listened carefully. She asked mostly of what my symptoms are or were, when I recieved the shots, and what lot numbers I had from said shots. After finishing the updates, she asked if their medical team could reach out to me and I said of “course.” When we finished, I followed by asking, “I imagine you can’t say anything but has anyone else reported anything of this nature?” I also said, “I understand if you can’t due to company policies and all.” Her response was a give away. She said, “thank you for understanding.” She could have said whole handful of other answers like “no” or “We haven’t heard anything.” Her tone and general affect was a dead give away that there are more of us struggling than they are saying. For the record, I’m seasoned therapist and I pick up on social cues for a living. All and all, this feels like I have “Suttle Covid.” That being said, I still have hope that we are going to get through this and finding this thread speaks volumes to my concerns and gave me some piece of mind knowing that I’m not crazy. If history says anything about vaccines side effects, most of the time effects will disapate and go away. I’m just hoping it happens soon. We all have to just keep trudging along and keep supporting each other. Again, I thank you all for commenting. At the end of the day, I look at this situation like this. It sucks but it’s better than getting COVID AND DYING.

Also if anyone has any suggestions that can help with my symptoms, please reply. I haven’t taken anything and I’m curious if anyone has any tips that could help. I'd also like to know if anyone has exp any weird blurry vision issues in one eye.

Prayers for everyone on here!

@r3020 I was having a bad day again and literally poured some cayenne and turmeric in the palm of my hand 3x today and my symptoms have disappeared including the brain fog.  I'm desperate to string together several days of normalcy

@ccmiles, How does that work? You just take the powder and eat it?

@gaggi From my experience, yes unfortunately. I've had the full Moderna Vaccine for 2 months and I just started getting all of these strange side effects as of 3 weeks ago. Each person is different from what I gather but it's still crappy either way. Hope we all start coming out of this soon! Prayers sent your way.

Hi Pipergirl. Thanks for replying. Do you credit Benadryl with helping? How many days did you take it? How many days total did your dizziness last?

I came online looking for answers. I’m in the UK and had the AstraZeneca vaccine on Feb 20th. A week or so later, I had a very severe attack of dizziness. I had had labyrinthitis years ago quite badly and repeat attacks every year or so less severely. It is 7 or8 year’s since I had an attack which is why I’m convinced it was triggered by the vaccine. Previous  attacks lasted a few days but this one is relentless. I was unable to drive for a week and needed support to walk. My next vaccine is due on May 15th and I’m seriously considering not getting it as my husband is travelling overseas then and I’ll be alone. Has anyone else not had a 2nd dose due to this? My doctor doesn’t take my concerns seriously.

@gaggi I think anything is possible when dealing with immediate, intermediate and long term side effects from these vaccines.  We are in a place where many front line doctors just don’t know so some are trying to treat the symptoms.  There is so much researchers and medical group do not know yet.  We are in a new frontier.

Then there are those who received pfizer reporting blood related side effects such as low platelet, easy bruising, scarttered blood pin dots.  That is bad.

I am hoping what many of you are reporting is temporary and eventually go away in time.  In my mind, there is no doubt vaccines are causing all these inflammatory symptoms we are having.

I have many drug related allergies including anaphylaxis to one injection. I was concerned about getting the vaccine with my history of severe allergies and spoke to an allergist who  took time to look at all the meds I am allergic to compared to ingredients in the pfizer. He encouraged me to  go ahead and am glad I did.  I did not expect delayed onset dizziness but I am not surprised.  I have had delayed onset allergies to radio contrast dye twice even with premedication. I don’t consider my dizziness as allergy related but my immune system is revving up.
