Update since my last post:

the ENT prescribed me Amoxicillin to deal with the sinus pressure and ear pressure. He didn’t see anything and to be honest most of the dizziness seems to be gone. It still happens after doing a lot of activity though. I’m still having a higher heart rate and the new thing that started is GI issues. I was having horrible heart burn for a few days and am now taking Prilosec which seems to have helped. Right now I am having more stiffness in my back and sides and stomach randomly. Has anyone experienced GI issues and is still having back/side soreness or pain?

Also I am scheduled for an MRI to rule anything else out. He is going to look at my sinuses and see if anything else is going on. I will see him in two weeks again.

Thank you~ I want to, but I had such a severe and immediate reaction that I would hesitate to do without someone there with me. I guess I just need to do it!

I was surprised to receive a letter from my new primary doctor today. She's part of probably the largest medical conglomerate in town with many locations. So, when the letter with my recent blood test results included information personal to the fact that I'd received some of the tests on the phone already, but this letter contained my complete results, I was amazed. I've never seen such service in all the 40+ years that my son has required a lot of care from many specialists. I'm really thankful for happening on this doctor.

So, no abnormal tests after looking at: Immune tests - IgM, IgA, IgG. Thyroid and Vitamin D tests (took prescription VitD) showed my levels have now raised back up into the normal ranges. And my ANA screen came back negative which I was relieved to learn, since a positive screen can cause a hunt for other indicators of autoimmune issues. I had a borderline positive one many years ago that became negative over time. So, I was thankful that a number of problems got ruled out.

Hmmm ...if I felt that way I might consider rethinking and calling doctor back to request at least a teaching session from someone ...ASAP, of course 😏

Hi lukenick, It sounds like your continued problems with elevated heart rate, and now new GI issues and back, side and stomach stiffness and pain would warrant giving a call back to your PCP. Those things wouldn't be in the scope of care for your new ENT. If your concerns get dismissed, I wonder if there would be a chance you could consider seeking another source for your primary care? I know that can be really difficult, but it sounds like maybe you've been trying hard without a lot of help from your PCP. Just from reading what you're sharing about your new symptoms, again, I would encourage you to try calling to update them on how you're doing now.

I should probably clarifying the only real new thing is the GI issues. I have aches and pains since the first shot that just don’t seem to go away. I will most likely contact my PCP and mention the lingering side effects. I’m scheduled for a physical soon anyways. I am curious if others are still dealing with back pain and if anyone has had GI issues.

the dizziness is mostly gone like I said but the other day I cut the grass and was dizzy for a few hours after. So it seems prolonged physical activity I’m still getting dizzy from.

also the heart rate issue is still there I believe but it’s not noticeable. Like if I wasn’t monitoring it I wouldn’t know about it.

I had my 1st dose (AZ) one week ago. I didn't feel any side effect for the first 2 days. But from the 3rd day onwards, I started to feel dizziness (especially in the morning when I wake up). The dizziness is still lurking there from time to time as I write. It's been a week now and I am really concern about it and not sure should I pursue for 2nd dose. I found this forum when I was googling about the topic. May I ask those who had posted the same experience as mine, would you mind to share your latest update? Keen to know is my symptom of dizziness is something that I should worry about and what should I do?

Thanks a million for your sharing!

@lukenick Ahhh, I was confused about what was ongoing and what was new for you. That's good ...I've had some GI phases of things go on, but other than having nausea & lack of appetite a lot, my vestibular issues have mostly been what's claimed my attention. There was a phase about halfway through these past 10 weeks when my stomach would just hurt when I did eat, but that seemed to resolve after a week or so.

Hello everyone!

A short update from my side:

My strong headaches and ear pain decreased, and dizziness occurs when I am doing activity or fast movements.

On Tuesday I will go to a neurological specialist I will ask him to wait more and if he recommend me the second dose.

I don't really want to use another meds, but I am curious that if some of you got better, have it spontaneously got better or you need meds for the recovery?

I have fear from strong steroids and don't really want to use them, to get nice other side effects 😐

I hope this new doctor won't want to feed me with unnecessary meds..

Nothing I have tried has helped. I thought Allegra D was helping but only for a day. I am now going try natural remedies for my dizziness. Dizzy since April 19.

celery powder, turmeric capsules, ginger root capsules and grape seed extract. Hopefully this helps. I will report back.

I received the Pfizer Vaccine on May 11, 5 days ago. I've been getting waves of nausea and dizziness much worse than I normally have. As I write, I am having a spell. My brain feels tingly and full of static, slight nausea, generally feeling uncoordinated. It's difficult to type. An effort to coordinate my eyes and fingers.

For 6 years I have had a vestibular disorder, what doctors call "Vestibulo-Ocular Mismatch." I have had VRT, been tested for BPPV, had a CT scan of my ears and neck, MRI, ENT, Neuro-otologist, acupunture, BrainPort Balance device (which was really effective, I'm thinking I will pick it up again), DNRS (Dynamic Neural Retraining System, by Annie Hopper, a very effective way to control vestibular episodes). All these things have gotten me to about 80% rehabilitated balance capacity. Maybe next I will try a naturopath.

This reaction to the Pfizer vaccine is a huge set back. Glad & grateful I stumbled across this post. I don't think I'll be getting the second dose. Or, will at least postpone.

Take care, have patience.

Hi all, after an extensive google search I found this site. Thankfully. I’m 33F, received my second shot of moderna  this past Wednesday (5/12). My first shot I had just a sore arm for a couple of days. This one I had a fever body aches headache for the two days following. After that, 3rd day I woke up with what felt like muscle strain on the left side of my neck (same side I got the shot) I figured I slept funny..as the day went on I realized I was getting dizzy spells, as well as a headache ONLY on the left side of my head, with some tingling. Took Tylenol the headache subsided a bit but dizziness/off balance feeling has not. My arm still hurts, as well as my neck. Today is day 4 post vaccine. I was praying to wake up feeling better but am not. Left side neck pain, left side headache, and dizziness still persists. My ears feel a little full as well. I suffer from anxiety disorder, during the past two months (same time I got first dose) I’ve been working with my psych trying different SSRIs. I’m not realizing 3 weeks after getting my first dose, I was dizzy. But I thought it was a side effect of Zoloft. I also would get what I can best describe as a heat wave through my body occasionally, and it comes ans goes. I did not have it before the vaccine, but due to starting meds,I didn’t think twice. I’m still on the Zoloft going on week 3. The dizziness subsided a few days before second dose. Now it’s back and I cannot ignore the timing. I’m extremely worried, and although reading all of these comments helps me to not feel alone, I am scared I have permanent damage from this vaccine. I wish I never got it. I do not know what to do or where to go from here. Sincerely, a really worried girl.

Hi @smileyoer -

I'm glad some of your symptoms are less than they were! And that you will see a neurological specialist soon.

It is hard for me to tell if I feel better because of medications, or vestibular therapy, or because I'm not doing some things that cause my symptoms to be worse, or if I'm just slowly improving over time.

I don't like to use medications and get side effects, but I'm halfway into trying a 6 day Medrol pack to see if it will help and it's not causing me big problems. I have less sinus pressure and headache the last couple of days, but I don't know if that would have happened anyway or not. If those symptoms come back after I stop the Medrol, I'll think it might have helped me while I was taking it, but I definitely wouldn't want to be on steroids all the time.

I've been given a new group of vestibular therapy exercises and after I do each of them, I get some return of vertigo and stronger waves of dizziness and nausea for a short time. I've been encouraged that may help me adapt and be able to do those things again someday without symptoms.

I hope you get some helpful advice from your new specialist that you feel you can use!

Update: Today is May 15, 2021. Dizziness is still very problematic and prominent. Have not been able to return to work since March. Has anyone else had their dizziness last so long?

I've been dealing with dizziness since 2 days after receiving a Moderna vaccine on March 3rd, although I have experienced some improvement. In reading others' posts on this forum, I've seen a few report up to 15+ weeks of continuing symptoms. I'm sure it's been extremely frustrating to be off work so long with these issues! I'm retired, but I also considered myself quite healthy before this all started and my lifestyle has become drastically hindered as a result. I hope you get some relief coming up soon!!
