@thenystagmus Hi Sassafras!! Yes, I’m down under in Australia 😃 - we’re currently in winter but it’s 19°C so we’re not really suffering!! Our school year follows the calendar year - so new year = new grade/level. Two semesters broken into four terms. Generally it’s a 2 week holiday each term but my kids have 3 wks in the winter as their school gives us the gift of an extra week 🙄🤦‍♀️ 😆
The biggest break is end of calendar year. They finish mid-December and return at the end of January.

That's so interesting to me; thanks for taking the time to share it with me! I never thought to ask my coworker those questions. She was a teacher's teacher, ever learning, ever teaching. Actually was the one to help me get my job after I'd volunteered a bunch in the school's Apple IIE computer lab. Now if that doesn't date me, I don't know what will! LOL 😂

Blessings and grace on you and your boys during their holiday time - kids have tons of energy; they're great!

@thenystagmus Hi Sassafras

I have more or less the same problems in the right part of the body! It all started with brain fog, stuffed ears and mild dizziness; after one week they began to “open” but my right ear aches sometimes and I feel like it isn’t working properly (obviously, dizziness - and brain fog sometimes - is still here and hits really bad some days). A week ago, I woke up in the middle of the night with the worst headache I’ve ever had in my life, I haven’t slept for a week because every night was the same (I still have pain, especially at night, but seems a little less). In my right eye, a couple of days ago, came out a chalazion.
But the pain in my nose and cheekbone, this is really strange, as if someone punched me in the face. It’s so annoying, I’m so tired and upset😔 (I’ve had my first shot of Pfizer on may 31th).
Hope we all can get well asap.
xx

Thanks for sharing! Yeah this beastie can be a real chameleon and a huge pain. I had something form along my lower eyelid edge that my optometrist had several theories about and I  wondered if it were shingles, given I had a sore on the end of my nose also, but ER doc thought not. They both resolved, but I'd never had whatever was on my eyelid before? Just recently I've started dealing with headache, throughout the nights and really noticable upon awakening. Yes, I'm more than ready to be better and stay better! My shot was March 3rd... Well wishing, my friend!

yes I have had some symptoms get better but than others get worse and totally new ones develop. Currently dealing with slight tingling in hands and feet and muscle fatigue. Every test I get shows nothing wrong. It’s very frustrating.

  • Have posted before. 12 weeks now since 1st dose of AZ. Not sure how much longer I can cope. Feel like I am drunk or drugged all the time. Vertigo every minute of the day that isn't improving. Tinnitus seems to be getting worse. I feel exhausted but find it so hard to sleep. Walking outside is awful. The world looks weird and I feel like I'm going to collapse. The latest doctor gave me betahistine. Betahistine is a medicine called a histamine analogue. It works by increasing the effect of a natural substance called histamine in your inner ear. My diagnosis is vestibular migraine but who knows if that is correct.  Prior to betahistine I was given cyclizine which is an antihistamine. I'm not a doctor but it seems to me they are the complete opposite in so much as one promotes histamine and the other suppresses it, am I wrong? Just feel so upset and frustrated. There is no support and the doctors can't get you off the phone quick enough. Thank God for this forum, when I'm feeling low it has helped me so much. Thank you all.

Hi friends. I've been following this thread for a while but never posted. I have a basic question...do covid specialist doctors exist? Doctors who actually are experts on seeing patients with long term effects from either the disease or the vaccine? I really wish there were but i'm guessing the answer is no?

All the doctors I have thus seen barely know anything about it and I'm getting very frustrated (as I'm sure many people on this thread feel the same)

I received my first dose in late April. Couldn't stand or walk more than one minute. Felt like collapsing. Lots of brain fog. Those lasted 2.5 weeks. Luckily got better but stuck with lightheadedness for 8 weeks now! I can walk about a block but then need to sit immediately. I desperately want to go back to old times and exercise again. No abnormal results from blood tests or MRI. No answers 🙁

I'm glad to have found this forum of supportive people who have similar or other side effects.

Ok, some memories are coming back to me as applicable to your question about Covid doctors. In spring of 2020, my disabled son has hydrocephalus and had several surgeries on his brain shunt tubing. The second time he was about to be discharged from the hospital but got held over because his pre-surgery shunt tap showed contamination with a slow-growing bacteria and he had to get IV antibiotics started prior to discharge. The specialist brought in to oversee this part of his care was an infectious disease specialist. In the course of sorting out my son's care options to minimize his exposure to the coronavirus in the hospital, in the rehab hospital she advised for him, or in his group home, she regaled us with information about the experiences she was having in the Covid ward. They had turned the negative pressure neurosurgical ward my son would usually have been in into a Covid ward.

Sorry for the long explanation, but I wonder if this infectious disease specialty could possibly also be consulted for long Covid and for Covid vaccine reactions?

I've also wondered what the area of expertise a rheumatologist is and if it would apply to our cases? I'd like to know the answer to your question, too!

I also yearn for my old times! I hope we all regain them soon!

That’s really odd.. I had something similar in my eyes like 15 years ago, it’s a cyst, an inflammation usually treated with a cortisone cream.

4 months, suck a long time to deal with it! So brave.. Thank you, this group is so useful and supportive! My best wishes to you! 🤞🏼

This is an article about Havana Syndrome. Not what we're dealing with... But, many things similar to what we're going through, from symptoms, to others' disbelief, to difficulties obtaining appropriate care. You might be surprised and find it well worth the read.

An excerpt: "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence."

@melanie22 this made me laugh, I didn’t even want the vaccine but people made me feel so bad I did it! Now feel dreadful.. I will go nowhere near the second jab and they will have to get through me first if they want to jab my kids!!

so happy to read you are feeling normal... fingers crossed for all x

I refused to have the vaccine altogether after what I read here.  I already have a long-standing vestibular disorder and wasn't willing to take the chance.  I have literally had abuse heaped on me because of it.  I've been lectured, berated and namecalled.  I've had guilt trips laid on me.  At this point I'm feeling like a social pariah.  I left a forum where I had posted for about 20 years because of one poster's continuing disparaging comments about unvaccinated people.  Anyone who knows me, knows that moving the rock of Gibralter would be easier than making me succumb to doing something I've decided I will not do.

Thanks Deborah - Well, I've read about the tears of others here... But I have been hopeful and brave. That kinda went down the drain in the night last night.

Now, a new symptom ...a tearful day...

Gotta get my house kidproofed today for my daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandkids that I haven't seen in some time coming, bringing lunch to celebrate my birth month. I warned her I'd probably leak some tears today, if hugged.

I'm still brave, for my Source of strength is eternal, never-changing - but I've entered a surprising, new facet of this season of grief. So glad I've got the company of others here for this time...

So sad to hear about that😔 this nightmare must end, we don’t deserve this, it has been done to protect us, not to harm us.. 😔 We have to be rocks.

Today is not a good day even for me, dizziness is hitting hard after 2 days of mild quietness, I’m 27 and I’m here in my room crying and dealing with pain again while all my friends are outside enjoying their lives; my family thinks I’m overreacting and they can’t understand how hard is this situation.. Such frustrating and sad.

So glad to have found this group, you are all really helpful and kind. Bless and hope 🤞🏼

Just an update. I felt better when I started the glutathione, quercetin and zinc but the feelings returned about a week later. Albeit slightly more mild, but still disturbing and distracting.

I tried stopping the supplements. Feelings left for a week and came back again, also, slightly more mild but still concerning.

I am looking to ask a doctor for ivermectin next. Has anyone gotten this treatment and it still didn't help?

My main symptom is a lightheaded/disconnected feeling. Not dizzy but off. Like a headache without pain.
