ughh same for me. It’s been 3 weeks since second Moderna shot and I feel worst! Nausea and dizziness is now constant 😞. I have an appointment with my PCP on Monday but not hopeful at all.

@jeanieb hi there. My onset of dizziness appeared 13 days after the 2nd dose. It has now been 9 days since I first started experiencing the dizziness, and while it has gotten noticeably better, I still feel something lingering beneath the surface. I have not tried driving yet but have been trying to take short walks. Please let me know how you feel.

Hi. I just joined. I also am experiencing headaches and extreme dizziness after the second Moderna vaccine shot. After the first there were a few days of exhaustion, pain at the injection site and a rash on my arm but no dizziness issues. This time the dizziness (accompanied with tinnitus) started the day after the shot and is persisting into day three. I was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease a few years ago after some bad episodes of vertigo followed by hearing loss and persistent dizziness. I have been able to control it with diet and a diuretic but what I’m experiencing now feels very much like it used to. Not sure if these two events are related in any way. Is anyone with Meniere’s having a similar experience after vaccination?

I received the Pfizer vaccine and just felt slight fatigue for a couple days and my arm hurt. About 2 weeks later I woke up, got out of bed and the room was spinning.The rest of the day it was not bad and the next few days it was the same if not a little better. Now it has been 3 weeks since the vaccine and it is a little worse, I get dizzy throughout the day if I am not careful and bend over or move my head the wrong way. A good friend is an ER doc and he suggested that instead of getting out of bed just sit up and wait a little bit and that has helped a lot. It also seems like if I focus my vision straight ahead on a fixed point just like you do on a boat so you do not get sea sick my brain gets a signal that seems to help. I canceled my second shot which was supposed to be today because I had read on this forum that for some people their vertigo got worse.There is no harm in waiting for the 2nd dose and in fact I have read that it is more effective if you wait longer. I want to wait and see how long it takes for the vertigo to go away or if it goes away before I commit to a possibly worse situation with the second shot. I will report if my vertigo gets better and I hope everyone else will.We are lucky to have this forum to share information! I am considering seeing an ENT to get the Eply maneuver and see if that helps. Someone on this forum said it helped and someone else said it made it worse.

So I felt dizzy as if Id drank but only momentarily.  A few times this morn and last eve.  Nothing I have experienced before unless I drank a lot.  Its only for a very short time and it stops.  It was 6 days ago I got the shot.  Today is 3-4-2021 and was the first time I felt dizzy since I got the Pfizer shot on March 25th

@michaelk, are you referring to the NEJM data from Israel? If so, my read on this was lower than that for one shot, but still high.

i have exactly what you have said. It’s been one week and I’m getting vertigo I never had it before. What vestibular disease should I look into?

thank you!

@kaykay

Were those symptoms after your first dose? And was it Moderna?

Mine has been one week with vertigo symptoms I’ve never ever had before.

hi, so very sorry to hear this.  I just joined this site.  I am female, 67.  Received my second Modern shot a week and a half ago.  I didn’t feel well for about 5 days, the last 2 of those I was somewhat dizzy.  But then finally fell much better until now.  I am back to having dizzy spells, and like you mentioned feeling very weird.

@lauradarr

I would like to know if your doctor said to do the second vaccine?

I have been miserable since my first vaccine!  How long does the vertigo symptom last?

@ellen I included the link but it was removed  I guess they do not allow links on this site.

Google -"Pfizer Vaccine Is 90% Effective 3 Weeks After First Shot" and you should find the article

It is  a Health Day article

The vaccine became 90% effective 21 days after the first shot in a two-dose regimen, said British researchers who looked at data from Israel, where the vaccine has been rolled out to a large portion of the population.

"A second dose of the Pfizer vaccine would normally be given 21 days or more after the first, to top up and lengthen the effect of the first dose," explained lead researcher Paul Hunter, from the University of East Anglia's Norwich Medical School.

"But here in the U.K., the decision was made to delay the timing of the second injection until 12 weeks after the first," Hunter said in a university news release.

I had my first dose of Moderna 3 weeks ago and this week I’m dealing with a headache and pressure in the back of my head. I’m also having vertigo that started in the middle of the night 3 nights ago and although a bit better is still a problem.  I feel “off” like it’s hard to think or concentrate. Also I felt very tired last week. Just didn’t make sense.  I’m a very active 68 year old.  I don’t have any health problems and don’t take any medications.   I just spoke to my neighbor (73years old) who just had her first shot 3 days ago and she is experiencing the same symptoms now as well.   I’m considering not having the second shot which I’m scheduled for next Monday   Thank you all for sharing

I received my first dose of Pfizer on January 13 and my second dose on February 2. Six days later, in the afternoon I randomly had sudden onset vertigo. It persisted, and the next day it induced a migraine. The vertigo and migraine have continued for over three weeks, though I will say I have improved a lot.

I have had a CT scan and an MRI and my brain is normal. Some of the doctors assumed it was a vestibular migraine, but I saw an ENT because I think it is vestibular neuritis induced by the vaccine, but she couldn’t tell me conclusively.

I have finally for the most part kicked the migraine, and have had a few days where I feel much better, but I still have dizzy days.

My pcp prescribed meclizine which didn’t do much, and my neuro prescribed a new migraine medicine that I had a terrible reaction to (can’t catch a break apparently). I have done two steroid tapers.

My mom also had Pfizer, and had dizziness/vertigo one week after her first dose, and was mostly better by her second, but after her second it got worse again. She’s two weeks out from her second shot and has good days and bad days.

I’ve never had vertigo or dizziness before...I’m hoping it resolves completely (and soon)!
