Like others have mentioned before, I came across this site as as google search. I have never had vertigo or vestibular issues prior to this. On Friday, February 26 I recieved my first Moderna vaccine. I did great, had no side effects, only a slight sore arm. On Tuesday morning I woke up out of bed and was so dizzy I nearly fell on my face. It was like the floor beneath me was swaying back and forth. I initially though it was from rising out of bed too quickly and went about my day. During the work day I has small bouts of feeling dizzy, no nausea, but definitely an uncomfortable feeling. It is now Thursday evening and the sensation hasn't stopped. I had a rapid covid antigen test done and have been taking my blood pressure multiple times, all are are ative/normal results. This is very worrisome to me, I made an appointment with my Dr tomorrow. Wondering if it's tied to the vaccine???
@anthem - the NEJM article from Israel? Yes. And is free to download. Happy to give you reference.
@michaelk, thank you. I’ll find it and compare it against the scientific article.
While doing some research, I ran across a HHS website where patients can report a Vaccine Adverse Event. You can google VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System). There is a long detailed checklist for reporting online. I printed the checklist but have not reported online yet. Just thought this might be helpful for the HHS to know there are increasing numbers of us going through these bouts of dizziness and vertigo for long periods of time since this is all new to them. The CDC also has info on VAERS.
I just joined. I have no diagnosed vesicular disease (although I do suffer from tinnitus and hearing loss), but I began having vertigo 3 days after my first dose of the Moderna vaccine. It's been three days now, and there's no improvement. Not terrible, but I feel wonky. And it isn't going away.
Have your symptoms improved? My sister got her second shot on February 1. After the first shit she experienced vertigo and numbness in hands snd feet. It got much worse after the second, and at this point she can’t drive or work. She had already seen two neurologists and has done MRIs. No one knows the answer.
@liatI
@Jeanie thank you for the update. I’m slowly recovering too, after a week of slight dizziness and stuffy head ache. I wanted to tell you, I also get migraine symptoms ie. Wavy lines, disorientation, no peripheral vision. I have a great cure! It even works on skeptics. Why it works, I do t know, but here it is: drink or I should say, guzzle a very, very, very cold glass of water. It really Works!
@dorothy-m-patelgmail-com me too! It’s been a week now. I thought I was getting better but then it sneaks up, so I do t know what’s going to happen
I received moderna vaccine 1st dose on Jan 15. Had chills, fever sore arms that night. Woke up next morning and about fell over getting out of bed. Thought it was "brain fog". My physician said it was textbook vertigo and possible vestibular neuritis. After seeing specialist ( audiologist) diagnosed me with nystagmus in both eyes. Felt like I was "drunk" all the time. Had done a prednisone taper the second week after shot and symptoms. Optometrist evaluated for optic neuritis and looked good. Had MRI and looked normal. Now have double vision and this is week 7. Seeing neuro-opthamologist in a couple weeks. Will definitely NOT be getting second dose. This has been a complete nightmare and wish I could turn back time. Hope we can all get answers soon!!
I recieve Moderna vaccine on Feb 26th 2021. Second day I was slammed with worst ever vertigo. I have had issues since I was a child with "dizzy"spells. Normally vertigo goes away after 2 or three days and I could function. Oh, man, second day after vaccine I was slammed with debilitating vertigo!! One week later still experiencing it....scared of second vaccine.
I had an e visit with Dr on day3 . Day 5 went to my Dr. She diagnosed me with B???positional vertigo. I also have severe neck pain on same side as injection.
Hummmmmkind of concerned
@sybarton, there is also a free CDC program called V-safe that people can register for when they get dose 1 or 2 of the vaccine. It sends you a text message every day asking if you are having symptoms. Everyone who has the vaccine should know about this free program -- it is listed in the paperwork you are given at the time of your vaccine.
@ellen Somehow, I overlooked that until I received my second dose. A huge oversight on my part.
I received my second moderna COVID shot on February 17th. I am a 39 year old very healthy female. On 1 March 2021, I woke up and while getting out of bed I was dizzy and experienced vertigo. After some time it went away. Then I went to workout and while doing sit-ups I had another spell. Went home and then had a couple of small dizziness spells. On 2 March 2021, I got out of bed and fell against the wall. I kept trying to get ready and ultimately made it to my car only to drive to the ER where I stumbled in. They said they thought I had BPPV possibly, but were unsure. It doesn’t make sense, I’ve never had any previous issues and out of nowhere a couple weeks after the second shot now I’m experiencing vertigo and dizziness daily. I am sincerely hoping this passes because if not then my job is over. It doesn’t allow for me to have vertigo.
Like everyone here, I came across this forum after googling my post vaccination symptoms. I'm 9 days out from my 1st Pfizer, pretty constant dizziness, brain fog, fatigue. I've never felt this way. Unfortunately, it isn't getting better. I don't want to even bother going to my dr, because I fear there is nothing to be done. Terrified to get the second dose. If anyone improves, please let us know.
