@jkrogmeier Hi. I am in the U.S. Neuro mentioned outpatient plasmapheresis, but I have to meet with a doctor who specializes in it first, and I am having trouble getting an appointment. Many of these doctors are booked out months. I hope to get this mess sorted out soon and to get some relief.
@rays Let’s hope that with time everyone does get better. I did speak with someone on another website who indicated that she did recover from insomnia and paraesthesia/nerve pain, but it took almost six months.
With insomnia, I have seen elsewhere that some people got through it and their sleep slowly returned to normal after enduring days or even weeks of insomnia. Unfortunately, I am going on over two months of insomnia (and nerve issues) with little respite.
Keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers. Be well.
@rays I agree. My neurologist brought up small fiber neuropathy or functional neurological disorder. He says he will do a skin biopsy for small fiber neuropathy if my nerve conduction studies don’t come back with anything. I too don’t buy the functional neurological disorder. Maybe if there were all there people having the same issues.
@tashley I too am postpartum. I received the first Pfizer dose when my baby was 3.5 months old. I wasn’t going to get it until the baby was at least one but got myself talked into by all the pressure of my children being in school with no masks and a new baby at home. Delta delta delta talk all over. All my healthcare friends saying you need the shot. My parents pressuring me. The MSM pressure etc. I also had been reading reports hospitals would have to possibly prioritize vaccinated over unvaccinated if it came to it for beds because vaccinated had a better chance of survival. So I just gave in. I wish I would’ve followed by instincts and not gotten it.
After the first dose I had numbness and tingling in my face and hands. Everything is fine with Mr. The doctor stated that it was temporary and there was no permanent nerve damage. The symptoms disappeared within a month. sometimes i just feel pain on the left side of my face but not to the point of concern. I took the second dose at week 7, my face started to feel numb again, I hope it's temporary. Do not stress too much, but do not let go of the precaution. I read that breathing therapy is good for facial numbness and I will start for numbness
Hello,
just wondering if anyone else here has had a range of autoimmune test done and a P-ANCA has come back as positive since the vaccine?
thanks.
@johnnyc I have been to two neurologists and no answers. They want to push the functional neurological disorder if they don’t find anything “organic” causing symptoms. Meaning nothing found on MRI/EMG. I don’t buy FND diagnosis. I too think it is mild guillain barre. I live in rural United States and I believe medicine is lazy here. Sad thing is no one in the country I have come across knows what is going on. I hope we all get this mess sorted out soon as well.
Hello,
further to my previous post and my ‘self diagnosis’ until I go back to my neurologist, the diagnosis may be ‘Vasculitis’.
Just wondering if anyone is in the same boat as I am. I have tingling burning feet every night which is my only symptom that has stayed with me 10 weeks since my second jab of Pfizer. Could’ve started from the first shot with was 3 weeks prior.
thanks.
Me again.
My appointment is for December. Our medical professionals in Oz are one step at least behind the USA and there would be no chance whatsoever that our medical people would admit or associate this with the vaccine. Hence why I’m reaching out to you lovely people.
thanks.
@richardhall17 it's been 2 weeks since I had my 2nd pfizer. The tingling and nerve pains remained about the same but the past few days I'm feeling them less and the pain in my right bottom leg is getting better which I'm happy about. The only thing I did notice post 2nd shot is increased muscle twitching in random body parts. My Dr said that's to do with nerves as well.
@medee I had my bloods done soon after my first shot when the symptoms started but my B12 was good. How were your results? Mine were all good except low iron (ferritin)
My neurologist also said that it's functional neurological disorder which a few people have mentioned being diagnosed with here as well. I also am sceptical of that though. I think that for some reason some of us are affected differently by this vaccine, most likely immune system related. And we probably won't know why for some time. When I asked my doctor why aren't they looking into this she just shrugged and said who is going to pay for it. Sad but predictable . Nobody really cares as it isn't life threatening and if anything they're even passing it off as if it's all in our heads. I just hope everyone heals 100% that's all we can hope for.
First of all thanks to all the people that write in this forum. You helped me a lot through my darkest days. Now I hope I'll be able to give hope to someone in the same position.
I had the first dose of Pfizer vaccine 5 weeks ago. The first day was fine, I had sore arm but I expected that as it's always the case with all the vaccines. On the second day I started to feel my right hand a bit numb (it is not the vaccinated hand). I thought it's probably because I work on computer all day and use the mouse a lot. The next day both my hand were numb and I had tingling sensation that was very strong. It was worse the following day, like pins and needles. It was a very strong feeling, not exactly painful but I had to massage my hands al the time just to have some sensation in them. I still didn't make connection with the vaccine.
I googled the symptoms and you all know saw results like MS, diabetes, Alzheimer etc. I'm healthy 40 year old and never had any serios health issues before. I completely freaked out until I googled 'pins and needles after Covid vaccine' and found this forum and other people in a similar situation.
By week 1 the tingling and the numbness moved towards my legs. Also increased hart beating from minimal effort, sometimes even when I was sitting. Week 2 was the worst as I didn't feel any improvements. I went to my GP and he was very uncertain of what's wrong with me and is it caused by the vaccine. He said if I don't get better within a month, he can give me appointment for blood tests. I read a lot of people here got all sorts of tests and their results are fine. So I don't know if I should get my blood checked eventually.
By week 3 things started to slowly improve. By week 4 my feet were back to normal. The only issues I still have are with my right arm. It's still a bit numb sometimes. But as I said I'm using computer all day and I guess that doesn't help. I'm taking Magnesium and a low dose Aspirin 75mg. I'm trying to go on regular walks. From all the information I read, I think I'll eventually recover from this.
I know it's difficult for all of us but I think also it's important to keep positive. When I took the vaccine my husband was not with me and I had all the pressure to look for the kids on my when I was not in good health. After he returned I started to make a improvement.
I have my second dose scheduled for next week. I don't know what to do. I read that usually the side effects after the second dose are stronger. I don't want to go through this again. I'm very disappointed by my country. The vaccination process is very well organized but if you want to discuss any side effects there is nobody to talk to. I ringed the number provided and the person who answered said that they are not medical professionals and I should contact my GP. Paragraph 22, it seems. Nobody cares about the side effects, nobody is updating the leaflets, they still have only the information provided by Pfizer. If I don't get the second dose I'll not get Covid certificate and it's now mandatory for many places. They talk about making it mandatory even for grocery stores and pharmacies. There are no exclusion for people with adverse effects. Nobody cares why our bodies reacted like this to vaccine. If you didn't die from the vaccine, you are fine.
@nat21 yes, I don’t buy into the FND diagnosis for sure. If it was FND for me then I ask the doc why did all of these lipomas under my skin show up out of nowhere directly after this shot? I have them all over under my skin in my forearms and legs….still no one believes it’s the shots…..
Hi everyone. I posted in here a few weeks back with tingling/pins and needles and pain. Its been 2 months and now I have numbness too that comes on randomly in my hands and lasts hours or days. Over the past 3 days I have felt very dizzy and sick which is what worries me the most. I was sitting having lunch and the feeling came on very suddenly- I felt drunk and struggled to stand without tilting to one side. It did not go away and hasn't done for three days now. All of my limbs feel very heavy and things like drinking a cup of coffee seem like so much effort. My legs feel weaker when I walk on them too. Has anyone experienced spells of dizzy/drunk feelings? Have they gone away after a few hours/days? Please let me know as I am really hoping this passes! Thanks.
I continue to have the tingling and parasthesia all over my body. I saw the VAERS website has almost 1400 cases documented of Guillian Barre post Covid vaccine for all 3 vaccines. I am terrified that is what’s going on with me. I’m sure my anxiety doesn’t help my symptoms but it’s hard not to freak out and think I’m going to wake up tomorrow and not be able to use my legs. So far I have not experienced any weakness but who knows if that’s not right around the corner or something. I have a 3 month old baby at home and I don’t want to die. I’m crying as I type this because I wouldn’t have taken the vaccine if I would have known this was a possibility.
