My name is Sarah Celentano, and I’m from Pittsford, NY. I was diagnosed with vestibular migraine disease 10 years ago, but my journey to that diagnosis wasn’t immediate. My physical therapist, Dr. Adam Ellis, was the first to recognize that my symptoms pointed to a vestibular issue. Later, my neurologist formally diagnosed me with vestibular migraine.
I committed to vestibular therapy for three months, practicing exercises twice a day before I began to notice meaningful improvement. Because I couldn’t tolerate many standard migraine medications, my primary care provider started me on candesartan, which became an important part of my treatment plan.
Recovery didn’t happen overnight—it took about a full year of consistency and patience. I learned to carefully manage triggers, prioritize sleep, reduce stress, and pay attention to food sensitivities, all while staying committed to my medication and vestibular therapy. Over time, those efforts helped me get back to feeling like myself again.
