@hope123 Hey! Thanks for checking in. Yes and no.. the day to day dizziness and brain fog did improve only to kick in a bit more just about a week ago. I actually just came back from a blood test. I am checking iron and other mineral levels. I highly suspect my iron is low and perhaps the vaccine put more of a demand on iron demand in my body? Perhaps since it also change my cycle my iron dropped as a result?

I am not a stranger to low iron but the more extreme symptoms are new to me. I started getting pretty regular and constant heart palpitations among other low iron symptoms so that was scary and new. I am supplementing but it takes time- it's been about a week of iron pills regularly so I'll see what info this blood test brings.

The logical side of me is thinking iron has been the issue all along and the vaccine was just mostly continental. Perhaps it did cause a bit more trouble or my body found it harder to fight off inflammation? I'll confirm with a blood test and a dr. as well as I'll probably go for an iron infusion to build back my levels. Low iron also explains the tinnitus that i was noticing on and off.. so there is where I'm at.

There is also the issue of my 2nd dose. We're now able to mix does so my first dose was AZ and I'll be going for a Pfizer next.. hopefully that doesn't rock the boat too much. Hope everyone else is improving too. I lost a good chunk of my work days from this, it was hard to concentrate and work for an extended amount of time. It's annoying to say the least!

@hope123 After getting vaccinated.  I can't really tell if it was medication, supplements or just the passage of time.  I took 1000 mg of C, plus Curcumin and turmeric, plus ibuprofen 800mg daily, plus benadryl, plus B6. I did notice that whenever I took supplements and drank green tea, I would feel better throughout the day. But I don't know for sure if it had any effect on me or if my body simply healed itself, because my recovery was gradual and not exactly linear.

@rombab I have had all the symptoms you did except for heart rate and high bp I already have that it is like you are describing exactly word for word what I am dealing with. Also like you, working out seems to be the only thing that helps it go away.

@lpycb42 I am taking C, D, quecerine, lg, zink, ibuprofen, also took reactine for a short period of time

Still want to try liquid lg, B complex and fish oil but then I am afraid it might be too much on my body.

I don't see any effect from taking these supplements, but maybe need a few more weeks to see the results...

How long did it take you to recover? I just need my brain fog to go away, ears are somewhat tolerable...

@hope123 Yes! It's been 3 months now since my first Moderna vaccine (on March 4th) and I can finally say I feel almost 100% recovered. It was a slow (and not always linear) process but I did get better with time. I did not get the second shot. It took about 6-8 weeks to get back to like 85-90% feeling like myself. And then now at about 12 weeks out I feel almost 100%. My doctors feel that this was was an inflammatory response to my vestibular/nervous system triggered by an exaggerated immune response to the vaccine. The main thing that helped me was just time...and I did anything I could do to reduce inflammation. I took daily walks outside, ate as anti-inflammatory diet as possible, drank TONS of water, vitamin C, vitamin D, etc. All the things people have mentioned on this forum. Stay hopeful! I think a lot of us recover with time. But I hope they come out with more data on this soon, because at this point I truly feel they are suppressing the number of people affected by this. 🙁

@earlz

I was just diagnosed with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo - and yes, only 2.5 weeks after my second dose of the Moderna vaccine. This came out of left field. No history of it at all. After battling vertigo and vomiting all night, I went to the hospital to get checked and was diagnosed. In researching, I’ve learned that a virus can trigger the vertigo. The COVID vaccine contains material from the virus that causes Covid. Correlation? I’m not a doctor but sure seems like it. There are documented reports of vertigo immediately following the vaccine; however, for some it comes later. I stumbled across this forum and am sharing my story. The dizziness comes and goes - certain head positions cause the dizziness to come on. I can’t bend down my head. Doc showed me the Epley maneuver to help and I’m taking meclizine.

@rbhubbard Wow 3 months! Did the doctors advise you against the 2nd shot or was it only your decision?

I reread you original post. At this post I am almost certain that people who suffer from motion sickness often develop these side effects. I suffer from mild motion sickness all my life.

Thank you for sharing..

Hello,

To answer some of your questions - I had my first Moderna shot on 4/6. Dizziness started 4/9. I was still Dizzy when got 2nd shot on 5/4. I did not notice any increase in symptoms, just about felt the same. I’m not ruling out it potentially extended the length of time I’ll experience the Dizziness.

Also as an update from my first post: I finished my steroids and 2 weeks of antibiotics. I felt an improvement with all my symptoms after the 3 weeks (but not the dizziness). I was already dealing with ear fullness prior to vaccine and had CT once dizziness started that showed sinus buildup. My ear felt less fullness but not 100%. My head fog went away for a good week or so but had minor head fog yesterday and today. Today the dizziness is on higher scale. My favorite description is always feeling of having few alcoholic drinks. Good days are about 2 drinks, bad days are about 4. Today is a 4 which is bad because it means Dizziness is not improving. I have a birthday party later I may cancel due to fear of driving there.

Im waiting to hear back from ENT about any possible next steps for dizziness. I’m assuming he’ll pass me off to neurologist. We’ll see.

wishing the best for everyone!

Hello everyone,

I haven't posted for a long time. A lot happened with me since than.

I can say that I have recovered to approximately 80-90%. My headaches gone, my ear pressure also lightened, off balance is happening sometimes but I can drive now and able to go cycling. I am really happy for that now.

I got my first Sputnik on April 9th. It's almost 10 weeks now, but I feel much better!

In our country we have the opportunity to get a second shot from another vaccine if the first one cause strong side effects.

I am considering to get Pfizer for the second one, but I think I will go for it at the end of this summer.

Have anyone feel worse again after the second one? Should I have fear for that?

YES!  I thought I was loosing my mind, but I'm starting to see dizziness being reported as a side effect.  1st dose - dizziness didn't happen until nearly a week later - it persisted and scared me enough to be Covid tested - results were negative.  It seemed to go away. Until the 2nd dose - then BAM! the next morning I nearly fell down when I got up.  I figured it HAD TO BE from the vaccination.   Crazy part is that it hasn't completely gone away yet.  It is still lurking there, just under the surface.  Dramamine only knocks me out, doesn't help.  It's very odd.  Not enough to cause nausea, but just enough to be uncomfortable.  Anyone else?   Will this go away???

I too have dizziness.  it is scary not knowing what was going on in my head. it ain't natural feeling this way, and it has scared me.  I thought I was on my way out. not even the doctors at A and E could not find anything in my blood. they could not even tell me if it was anything to do with the vaccine. I was thinking of all sorts of bad things. but now that I have looked into this sight, it's good to know I'm not alone. can anyone tell me how long will this horrid feeling last.

@hope123 It took 3 weeks for me to feel OK, as in 80% from how I was feeling in the first 2 weeks.  About 6 weeks to be completely normal.

Many people suffering these side effects seem to have  preexisting vestibular or migraine conditions.
