Had Dizziness since Sept 2023. Returned from Spain after a week of returning started with feeling off balance like a swaying motion when out walking. Developed into feeling unbalanced regularly and woozy feeling. Had MRI and blood tests all returned fine. Had two balance tests again returned fine. Balance consultant did BPPV test and said it wasn’t that and to continue exercises.

Every day the unbalanced feeling affects me, depending on sleep it can affect me worse but it’s always there. I have severe headaches every single day. I have had physio and so cooksey cawthorne exercises every day but these haven’t helped. Looking down at my phone I feel like my head is moving side to side. When I try and concentrate the dizziness affects me where I feel like I’m not concentrating properly.

i sometimes get heart palpitations which would normally refer to anxiety but I don’t feel anxious other than I want rid of this problem.

Does anyone have a similar issue and any help to reduce symptoms or get rid of them fully?

That constant swaying, off-balance feeling when walking, the wooziness, daily headaches, and the strange motion when looking down or trying to focus — it’s exhausting, especially when all the scans and tests come back normal. In my case, a neurologist who specialized in vestibular issues eventually diagnosed me with something called PPPD (Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness), which can be triggered by things like travel, illness, or stress and tends to stick around even after the original cause is gone.

@johnlar Hello John, that sounds like what my husband has had for about 30 years now.  After every test there is, meds from other countries, he has never had a diagnosis.  I just read something about new stem cell treatments that were curing some of the dizziness. Hope this continues.  How long have you had your dizziness...I say that, but my husband, David, feels like he is on a boat all the time.  His does not come in bouts, he has had it constantly all these years.  If you hear (lol) of any new anything, please let us know.

Thanks,

I know how frustrating it is when tests come back fine but symptoms persist. The swaying, wooziness, headaches, and trouble focusing can sometimes be linked to vestibular migraines, PPPD, or even subtle vision or neck issues that scans don’t show. It might help to track your symptoms for possible triggers like lighting, screen time, or head movement, and consider a vestibular therapist who can tailor exercises to your specific triggers.

@johnlar I have all the symptoms you describe except headaches.

I'm trying vestibular rehab only. No sertoline meds, no cbd. Into 2nd week with no results. Sad

7yrs post fall on head. I do ride adult tricycle, swim. No more golf, tennis, walk, run. Use cane for balance when walking. Drive slow, short distance ok.

Have decreased to 2glass wine a nite. Smoking down to half pack a day. Goal is no smoking, no alcohol.

Any recommendations?
