@helenn I am in the same boat with two young kids to care for. I am terrified with all of these symptoms and doctors seem to brush me off.

Okay, so, after 5 months of progressing symptoms, I feel I have to share my story with all of you, as I too experience the same thing as a lot of you: outwardly I'm okay, so people think I'm an anti-vax person suddenly, whilst inside, I have never in my life felt worse.

I had my first shot of Moderna at the end of July. I didn't have a lot of side effects, only a blistering headache that shook me. I didn't think the worst of it, as they mentioned that a headache is normal. I wish I would've listened to my body.

The second shot is the one that got me good. I had it at the start of August, which was necessary for me to travel abroad.

Two days after the second shot, I noticed an itch below my left eye, with an actual rash below my eye-lid. The days after, I noticed my left eye becoming 'droopy', with my eyelid not opening completely. I didn't immediately see the doctor and went on my holiday trip, where it just didn't really progress.

When I got home, I started exercising again in the gym, where I noticed that my left pectoral muscle was entirely weak, actually hanging in place. I immediately made an appointment at the doctor, who noticed the same thing and wanted me to make an appointment at the neurologist.

I went there, I had an EKG, an MRI. Nothing really noticeable. I told him all my symtomps, how they are progressing, how now 24/7 I feel a tingle/numbness in my lips, in my cheek, how my left hand is starting to tingle, ... Yet he still didn't want to say this was caused by the vaccine, which is just absolutely bonkers to me. My whole life I've been super healthy, and two days after the vaccine's second shot, everything goes to hell.

There isn't a minute that goes by without me thinking about it, because it is there, literally 24/7. Some days are better, some are worse, I don't really know what else I can do, as I had a steroid course which did nothing for me.

The weakness in my pectoral muscle has resolved, which is one positive thing that I hold on to. If that nerve repaired itself, I can only hope that the one in my face and my hand can do the same thing.

Do any of you experience kind of the same thing as me? Have your symptoms resolved? What medication are you taking?

Thanks for reading, I need to talk to someone about this, because I literally feel like my own body is killing itself from the inside and there isn't a whole lot we can do about it...

Regards,

Sander

@floryeo I don’t have the pressure in my head anymore. I would think it will subside eventually when your body sorts itself out. Hang in there!

I’m having a flare up at week 15!  I’m so discouraged by this. I was doing well and feeling almost completely normal for about the last 3 weeks. Not sure what triggered the flare up ai that’s even more discouraging. Hoping it’s short lived and flare ups come less frequently.

I also get the flare ups, managed 7 days all ok, now it's back again 🙁

Whatever the original root cause was (vax or diet or whatever) it doesn't seem to matter to the Doctors I'm seeing, they all think it's anxiety.. and once that's dealt with it will go away.. If it was anxiety surely the diazepam would have stopped it? (which it doesn't). I'm now on 40mg Citalopram..

@montydes I’m beginning to think that the flare ups are caused by the overactive immune system response. I felt like I was coming down with a cold on Tuesday and Tuesday evening my symptoms came back, like they were after the vaccine but a bit more mild. Wednesday morning my cold symptoms were no more! Saturday I’m still having immune response reactions.
Does the immune response kick in when exercising? This could explain why some of my symptoms return after exercise.

@dgingoglia I too think it is an overactive immune response that hopefully will right itself 🤷‍♀️ . I did speak to a psychiatrist and she did make the valid point that people who die from Covid it’s usually their immune system that kills them. Maybe all of us would’ve had severe life threatening Covid if we were to have gotten it. She theorized that too. I hope eventually we all heal from this.

@jkro I’d like to think that my strong immune response would fight covid so well that I would barely have any symptoms, but who knows!!

@dgingoglia I think though that sometimes when people get Covid and they are doing poorly it is due to the immune system overreacting. That is the cytokine storm we all hear them talking about. I’m thinking our bodies did something of that sort. It threw all it had at this shot. I think there needs to be more research and maybe different people need different dosing. I think I would’ve still developed antibodies at a smaller dose. I have confirmed I did make antibodies for the spike protein due to having the shot but I have never had Covid. I only received the one dose of the Pfizer. I will not be having any more per my doc.

@dgingoglia we have similar symptoms to those who have long Covid. And the proteins made by the shot are structurally the same as covid spike protein so it makes me also wonder about structural damage that was done from the shot to our bodies.

Also, Pfizer has to be stored super cold so was there a problem with that for those of us who are having issues? Also, if it is so unstable at temps warmer than ultra cold what is in it?

Also, maybe those of us who get adverse reactions maybe the person who administered our shot missed the muscle and went into our bloodstream?

I have no idea what has caused this for us. These are just theories I have.

@jkro totally agree! I have always been a person that requires very small doses of medication to get the desired affect. I believe this dose was definitely too much for me. I also received only one dose of the Pfizer vaccine but I haven’t been able to have a doctor order the antibody test for me.

@jkro I hope research can be done as to why we are experiencing these symptoms.

@dgingoglia I too, am super sensitive to medications. I have so much trouble with taking anything. I try to avoid them. I have never had an issue with vaccines as an adult. I do remember having pain and swelling at the injection site as a child. And most vaccines we get as adults we have already received as kids so my body was already sensitized to those. The Covid vaccine and spike are new to humans so that could be the reason too.
