@medee I really do think that staying calm, positive and distracting yourself from these feelings and also the thoughts about them really helps. I had a few bad days where it all seemed to flare up but I was overthinking everything and panicking that Im going to have some serious health issues etc as a result . Then I spoke to my Dr who was quite reassuring. She said all vaccines can cause nerve flare ups but these covid ones are a lot stronger and generate a stronger immune response. She also said nerve pain generally always goes away with time, some people may just take longer than others. It's now just a case of either trying out different meds that will ease the symptoms, or just riding it out till our bodies naturally settle everything down. Since I had the talk with my Dr my symptoms are still there but i notice them a lot less and I'm focusing on other stuff. Some days I don't notice them much at all and I can see certain body parts which used to have nerve pain have now gotten better. So I definitely believe we should all try to minimise our anxiety about this as much as we can.

I didnt have ear pain but I did experience some tinnitus type symptoms a few times but they were very mild and passed quickly.

My neuro prescribed me gabapentin as well and I took it for a few days but felt spaced out and not myself so I stopped it.

I think the best bet is to just keep believing that your body is healing and this will all go away soon!

Did you have a weird feeing in your head as well and ny sort of muscle weakness too?

I see that you've mentioned about your Dr and then Neuro. Just wanted to know if the nerve flare-up was said by the General Practitioner or the Neuro. If this is coming from the Neuro then it sounds like some relieving information.

Also did your Neuro do any tests on you?

Pls do use the QUOTE option while responding. You take care!

Hi Dee, I didn't have any head pain, but I did have twitches in muscles (even on my lip a few times) but mainly in limbs and fingers and toes.

My Dr and neuro both said its nerve flare up. At my last neuro appt she said that she has seen many patients with this and they have all resolved. She said if it was anything sinister it would have shown up on the nerve test she did on me and the physical exam. And also it's getting better not worse. She definitely doesn't think it's something like GBS.

I'm now 4 weeks post second vax. My symptoms have decreased almost to the point of being gone. Some days I feel a minor twinge or muscle twitch but it's nowhere near as bad as it was a few weeks ago. I've just been staying positive, not thinking about it hardly at all, taking vitamins, exercising etc. I don't plan to go back to my neuro and I don't see anything else coming out of it but she was quite reassuring about everything and that it's nothing to worry about. She also said to stay away from reading things online and self diagnosing as it causes a lot of stress and anxiety which I agree with!

Have your symptoms improved?

I don't know anymore if I am feeling better or worse. It started with muscle twitching on the 4th day post vax and then got pin and needles. Visited a dox who asked me to start Vitamin B12 and ran through some blood tests. Nothing came up except Vitamin D deficiency. I was prescribed Vitamin D tablets and sincd I was already taking B12 tablets a few days before the blood test, the reports did not show a deficiency on that.

A few days later, I started getting nerve pain at random places and the doctor prescribed Gabapin NT which I took for a day but the sude effects were bad - more muscle twiching and hypnic jerks. Post which I started taking half of it and not the whole tablet. The nerve pain started getting a bit better.

3 days later when to the ENT as I also had Tinnitus. He asked me to stop Gabapin and started his treatment for the ears. I was all fine during this time. The nerve issues were too less. All I was concentrating was on my Tinnitus.

All of a sudden my chest pain increased and it was unbearable. This was just a few days ago. I did have chest pain post vax but it was very slight. I also felt this is coz I have been anxious for too long so my body is acting up. But it wasn't the case.

Slowly all my symptoms came back. This time it was more severe than when it had begun. I feel weak in my legs. I feel somewhat electric sesnation in my head which earlier subsided a week post vax. I feel like something is crawling in my body - this I did not suffer from earlier. I don't know anything anymore. I agree that reading all of this makes you anxious but how wpuld we get answers since the doctors haven't been supportive.

9th October I got the jab, 14th October my symptoms showed up. Within a week or 10 days or so I felt better. I was confident this is just vitamin deficiency and I was cming back on track. I left this forum so as to feel better. I did everything of it. But all of it started coming back at me even worse by the end of October and now I'm feeling hopeless.

I am going to see a Neurologist but I hope he is as helpful and assuring as yours was. Hope we all come out of it soon. I am scared. Very very scared!

Your timeline sounds similar to mine. If this can help: I got the jab on August 29, mild symptoms started around September 5, around Sept 24 they were gone. On Sept 25 they came back full force plus new ones altogether so strong I thought It was the end. I was in bed for two weeks freaking out. Blood tests didn't show anything wrong. Starting from October 6 they started going away. They never came back as strong as they were. I have mild relapses and days where I am 100% already. Hope it will stay like this and that the last mild symptoms will go away soon.

For some odd reasons, it is hitting me back harder. Had a very very bad pinning sensation in my body at random places just a while ago. It was such a poky feeling as though someone was piercing something in my skin.

I didn't have continuous muscle tremors yet. But since last night my left arm is continously vibrating. It almost went on for the whole day with some gaps on and off.

My head feels pressured and since few days the crawling feeling in my head has been constant. It gets itchy and I'm unable to keep my hands off my head.

I got my periods late last month post vax 19th Oct. (9th Oct was the vax date) and this time yet to get it. I'm not sure what is going on. I'm completing 6 weeks on 25th Nov since the symptoms started. I was hoping to feel better by now.😒

Hi I’m ever great full  that I’ve found this forum! I felt like I was alone. I am a 29 yr old who I thought was perfectly healthy, I had my Pfizer vaccine in May and the end of the week I was experiencing everything everyone is talking about sever tingling burning pins and needles pain in arms, hands etc. then started affecting my sleep, which I started acupuncture for. I’ve been pushed to take meds etc, and feel like no one is taking my seriously. I have a nerve test which they said was clear and mri on neck and shoulders which show bulging discs which are NOT compressing nerves . After being confused my doctors and led to believe having the second one would be safe I have done so. Prior to that it was finally getting better after months, now I’m not too sure if the vaccine triggered it to get worse again. But doctors have suggested it’s an issue with my muscles being too tight that’s causing the tingling which is now in my hands and feet and sometimes bottom of my back.

sorry about the long essay but it had taken over my year and my life. Waiting for a referral for physio. Has anyone had anything similar, that has resolved or had it as long as I have? Anyone been told anything similar? I just need some hope. Anyone found something that helps? My doctors are very unhelpful and very difficult to even get a phone call, no face to face here at the moment :/

They lie. They don't know shit! We are on our own. I did have tingling and pins and needles and a lot of us did. If this might help look for words with the keyword and you will find people having similar experience. It does get better and then relapses.

I cannot give you hope that I hace recovered as I am still suffering from all of this. But there are people who felt better, few who claimed to recover around 80%-90%

How are you feeling these days? Has it gotten better for you?

Hi Dee,

Thank you for the response, although i wish you were getting better, I am glad I'm not alone in this! Currently not feeling great, having a lot of nerve pain last few days, but i have tried to keep stretching and using heat to ease some of the symptom's. Like i mentioned before it took over  almost over 5/6 months to decrease significantly.. and that was a tough road. Now i feel like i'm starting all over again since the second vaccine. Really hoping for some rest bite soon and i hope you feel better soon 🙂

@juliel I agree but who do we get to research? I’ve called the CDC, NIH, the iowa governor, my state senators Ernst/grassley, FDA, and Pfizer. The only people to take any interest in what is going on is Pfizer who contacted my doctor. Dr. Nath is the clinical director at the NIH who is a neuro immunologist I spoke with and didn’t get anywhere with him either. Look him up on google and email him too. If there are more of us maybe they will take it more seriously. I have seen neurology and immunology at the University of Iowa and they had no idea how to help and acted as if I was the only one. I even gave them studies 🤷‍♀️ my PCP also had no ideas/answers. All my tests have came back fine and I have had mri/CT brain/head. Extensive blood work. I have been told maybe small fiber neuropathy or functional neurological disorder which I don’t believe it’s FND.

@medee I've had a flare up this past week, the random shooting pains in arms legs and heads and also muscle twitches. Was quite disappointed because I felt about 90% better prior to that. My kids did get a bad cold and I had a slighty runny nose so I dont know if that caused the flare up or something else. Either way it's very frustrating. I'm 8 weeks post 1st jab and 4 weeks post second. My neurologist wanted me to take 2 types of meds which she reckons would reboot my system to make this go away (I previously took them for a week but didn't like how I felt on it and they didn't help so I stopped). I feel like everything is just a trial and error at this point its obvious there's no actual answers to it all

@account6 Did you ever get answers to your questions,  seek additional medical help or figure out what caused your problems? I ask this because I got the J&J on November 9th. It was my "booster". I received my first J&J in March with mild side effects,  so I had no issues wanting to receive the booster to be safe and feel protected as I am 61. I felt fine after the booster.  I wasn't tired or achy like the first time. Three days after though,  I started getting tingling in my feet.  The next day it was in my hands and my whole face. I contacted my PCP, and he said he had heard from others of this symptom of tingling.  I told him I had an appointment with my neurologist later in the week, and he said to have him examine me, which I did. The neurologist did some strength testing,  checked my extremities for neuropathy and all was fine. He told me that he only knew of this symptom on one other person,  and they had covid. He said he didn't feel the need to run any formal tests but to keep in touch with him. That was 5 days ago. Yesterday I had a good day with just mild tingling and muscle cramping.  Today my calves ached all day and now I'm getting tingles. I need to call him back and insist on further tests. I was hoping you could let me know how things are for you.  I hope you are doing good,  and your symptoms are improving.  Please let us know.

@xtreme I had the J&J vaccine in March and the booster on November 9th.  The first shot in March I had fatigue and body aches for 2 days.  With the booster I felt fine right after vaccine but 3 days later developed the tingling and cramping in my calves.  The tingling is pretty much all over my body, but the cramping stays in my legs, and I typically don't have them at the same time, but alternately. I have spoke with my GP and he said he knows of others who have had this symptom.  When I went to see my neurologist he said that the only person he knew that had these symptoms actually had covid. I'm discouraged and I want to get testing done,  but my neurologist didn't think it was necessary at this time. I hope you are feeling better soon, as we all just want to feel our best.

Hello,

I am so sorry to hear that everyone is having these issues. I am healthy person in my 30's love to moutain bike and do strength training exercises x5-6 a week. I eat healthy and aim for organic foods. I myself started having tingling, numbing and stinging like sesations all over my body (including face and scalp) after the 1st dose of Pzifer. I feel like the bottom of my feet and palm of hands burn at times but are always extremly cold to the touch. Its been 2weeks and 2days now with these symptoms that started same day I got my shot. I have always gotten my vaccines growing up and the flu shot x1 in my life time. This covid vaccine is not like your traditional vaccines which is why I had my reservations and had decided not to get it, however my job made it mandatory. I will not be getting 2nd dose as my body is not reacting well to it. I feel moving around, biking and exercising help dull out the tingling. I started biomagnetic therapy which helps. Also started my biotin supplement and flaxseed supplement. I feel they help some. Waiting to get in to see neurologist. Hard to stay positive at times but trying to go about my normal routine as much as possible!

@newbie

I've also had the MRI's and nerve tests and all come back clear. Not everything shows up clearly on an MRI, it sounds like you might have the same as me , a very slightly pinched nerve only affecting the sensory nerve.. mine is in the lower back (near sacrum) affecting lower limb..

Hang in there mate. Mine flares up now and then then goes away for a week.. Maybe talk to your doctor about getting some anxiety meds?

3 months after taking Astrazeneca I felt this pressure/heaviness on the right side of my face mainly top part of cheek which was in August. After nearly 2 months it travelled to both sides of face but mainly right cheek feels tingly and numb. 4 months later... still the same.

Right cheek feels heavy and tingling all day long however when I wake up I feel normal for about an hour. Gradually it gets worse during the day. Can feel nerves crawling/tingling all over face. CT scan and MRI scan all came back normal.

Neurologist doesn't agree that it's from the vaccine however I'm 21 and had no problems at all before the vaccine. Have been prescribed amitriptyline and has helped to sleep at night for last 2 days.

Anyone else have these symptoms? It doesn't seem to get better, praying it goes by itself.

@tedqr  Sorry to hear that. I'm going through the exact same thing. My right cheek feels like it's been punched and swollen. Can feel tingly all over. MRI/CT Scans came out normal for me but I have been using amitriptyline which was prescribed by my neurologist. Not had any effect yet...Are you feeling any better?

Hi everyone,

Very grateful to have found this post as I was feeling quite crazy. Barely had any side effects after my first Pfizer jab. Had sore arm, headache for a few days after my second jab and then everything appeared to calm down. Skip to 3 weeks after the second jab and that is when everything starts to go downhill (it is now 4 weeks so this has been going a week so far). I have random stabbing pains in my head, paresthesia in my legs below the knees that sometimes also comes in my arms/hands/face. Heart palpitations and chest pain, got formally diagnosed with Pericarditis yesterday via an echo. I have also developed what appears to be costochondritis. Now I am getting random bouts of dizziness that leave as fast as they come, not enough to make me nauseous but enough for me to go woah wish that wouldn't happen so often. Paresthesia is really bad some days and other days it's just a dull humm in my feet but it never really goes away. It's wreaking havoc with my anxiety and I quite often find my thoughts in dark places.

I'm honestly not sure how much more of this I can take.

Can anyone with similar symptoms please give me some kind of good news? Did it go away eventually?

Hi all,

does anyone here got numb ? my entire left leg along with my buttocks is numb, for 2 weeks now since my second  dose vaccination, i can move my not as good as my right leg but this numbness is crazy. also i have numbness on the right side of my face, like one half, even when i eat, if i chew on the right side i barely taste the food as compared to the left side, this is just weird.

i get alot of nerve pain when i take shower, it's like the water is giving me an electric shock. some days i get slightly better and some days i just want to lie on bed.

anyone with similar symptoms of numbness, most of what i read here was tingling sensations, am i alone on the numbness here?
