@njrazorback I have problems with numbness that has spread all over my body. My MRI and EMG were clear, but small fiber nerve damage doesn’t show up on an EMG. They would have to do a biopsy to test for that. Ask your neurologist about possibilities of small fiber neuropathy next time you see them. I’m wondering if this is a common side effect from Moderna’s vaccine. Hoping this isn’t permanent for us.

I am not sure if vit D has a role to play...who knows. Went to neurologist she said it's likely the nerve inflammation from the vax. Nerve studies didn't show abnormalities. I need to do couple MRI scans just in case... not sure what to do with the 2nd dose. We have cases in the area, and I wish to be fully vaxxed. But now with these symptoms makes it harder to make a decision.

@sontos that’s great. Did you have any rushing sound or hissing in your ears? Headaches?

Hi everyone. Glad I found this forum. I had covid in may (nothing too serious but chest pains are usual after that)
i had the first astra zeneca shot in july and i started having paresthesia a month later. Right now it is difficult for me to fall asleep at night since my feet burn A LOT.
I’m having a MRI done tomorrow.
Blood work is ok and neurologist says he found nothing to be worried in his exam and this is probably caused by the vaccine.

this is awful. Thanks for the support.

@katia I was wondering if low vitamin D may have made us more susceptible to the nerve inflammation due to the vaccine.

How low is your vit D? I am curious about these side effects to the vax, because I know a lot friends with major health issues getting the jab and feeling fine. There must be something in common why this nerve inflammation happens in certain people. It looks like an inflammatory response, which could indicate an overreactive immune system response. What is strange that otherwise healthy people get that too.

@dgingoglia

Also it does resemble vitB6 toxicity a lot! Like super similiar and it takes months fom vitB6 damage to heal. I checked my levels to rule this out as it's sneaky! It's easy to OD on B6 if you take B supplements for long periods of time. I am not a naturopath but looks like some supplements can support nerve healing (like ALA, omegas 3, D-ribose) also keep good levels of pottassim/sodium and hydration. Vitamin B12 deficiency in general plays a role in causing neuropathy, some people don't absorb it well but it takes 4 years to of not absorbing or being vegetarian without watching the b12 intake to get really low. My levels were in a healthy range. Good idea to check! I wonder if it will be useful for people to write what kind of things they take? To share more about other factors in their life! What makes this better.

Hi everyone. Well, where to start! I’m a 20 year old fit and healthy female and I had my second Moderna jab in my left arm on 3rd September 2021. Felt really rough for a couple of days but same as when I had first jab so nothing concerning. After 3 days I had tingling radiating from my left bicep. Not painful just annoying but came and went. Couple days later it was constant tingling, then turned into a painful cramp radiating from my bicep but only in my left arm. Had neck X ray to see if it was a pinched nerve but all normal. GP said most likely carpel tunnel syndrome because it was only in my arm. Next day I woke up and the arm pain was suddenly gone completely, so not carpel tunnel. Then the full body symptoms started- tingling, pins and needles, itching, electric shock like nerve pains and twice it felt like I trod on a needle- it was very unpleasant. Also feelings of indigestion and eye twitching. Unable to focus my eyes on things although that could be fatigue. A&E doctor told me a few people were experiencing this and that I should get some nerve pain killers from the GP. Then after about 12 days of symptoms they went away. I was so happy and relieved but right now it’s 2am and I’m typing this unable to sleep because they’ve come back, this time in my feet. My toes are numb and feet are tingling, some random pins and needles around my body too. Also had heart palpitations frequently over the past 3 days. This whole thing is making me so anxious because I’m thinking the worst- plus the lady at A&E told me to go back if I got foot numbness that didn’t go away but I’m not home so I can’t bring myself to go, just too exhausted and anxious. It’s comforting to know I’m not the only one though, I hope you guys get better soon. Has anyone else had symptoms come and go or change as frequently as every day?

@dgingoglia I have been taking Vitamin D supplements for several years.  My levels are considered normal now and I still had the issue.
