@medee I really do think that staying calm, positive and distracting yourself from these feelings and also the thoughts about them really helps. I had a few bad days where it all seemed to flare up but I was overthinking everything and panicking that Im going to have some serious health issues etc as a result . Then I spoke to my Dr who was quite reassuring. She said all vaccines can cause nerve flare ups but these covid ones are a lot stronger and generate a stronger immune response. She also said nerve pain generally always goes away with time, some people may just take longer than others. It's now just a case of either trying out different meds that will ease the symptoms, or just riding it out till our bodies naturally settle everything down. Since I had the talk with my Dr my symptoms are still there but i notice them a lot less and I'm focusing on other stuff. Some days I don't notice them much at all and I can see certain body parts which used to have nerve pain have now gotten better. So I definitely believe we should all try to minimise our anxiety about this as much as we can.

I didnt have ear pain but I did experience some tinnitus type symptoms a few times but they were very mild and passed quickly.

My neuro prescribed me gabapentin as well and I took it for a few days but felt spaced out and not myself so I stopped it.

I think the best bet is to just keep believing that your body is healing and this will all go away soon!

Did you have a weird feeing in your head as well and ny sort of muscle weakness too?

I see that you've mentioned about your Dr and then Neuro. Just wanted to know if the nerve flare-up was said by the General Practitioner or the Neuro. If this is coming from the Neuro then it sounds like some relieving information.

Also did your Neuro do any tests on you?

Pls do use the QUOTE option while responding. You take care!

@rays Let’s hope that with time everyone does get better.  I did speak with someone on another website who indicated that she did recover from insomnia and paraesthesia/nerve pain, but it took almost six months.

With insomnia, I have seen elsewhere that some people got through it and their sleep slowly returned to normal after enduring days or even weeks of insomnia.  Unfortunately, I am going on over two months of insomnia (and nerve issues) with little respite.

Keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers.  Be well.

How are you feeling these days? What were your symptoms?

Did you see any Neurologist and do any tests? What was the outcome?

Hiy there. I'm week 9 post first Pfizer jab. Check out this link that describes our symptoms of tingling, heat, burning, stabbing, pins and needles etc...

https://drhrejoint.com/blogs/dr-h-blog/what-does-it-feel-like-when-nerves-are-healing

It gives me hope that what we are feeling is our nerves trying to recover after the initial inflammation from the jab.

I read the article. Gives a lot of hopes for someone like me who has had all the issues with the nerves. Thanks a lot for the link!🤍

How are you feeling these days? What were your symptoms if I may ask. Have you seen a Neurologist or done any tests? What was the outcome?

Pls do use the QUOTE option while replying. Thanks and take care!

I am not sure if vit D has a role to play...who knows. Went to neurologist she said it's likely the nerve inflammation from the vax. Nerve studies didn't show abnormalities. I need to do couple MRI scans just in case... not sure what to do with the 2nd dose. We have cases in the area, and I wish to be fully vaxxed. But now with these symptoms makes it harder to make a decision.

How are you feeling now? Did you do further tests you've mentioned in the comment? What was the outcome?

What were your symptoms if I may ask...

@fifoh how long did yours last? was it just in your arms? Mine is mostly in my arms and I get some nerve pain, but I mean the tingles/slight numbness is also nerve related. I get a pinch and needle here and there around parts of body for a second then it moves other places -most times this happens except there was once where it was sustained when I pressed down. i had a my vaccine since a week ago.

I don't think it's GBS as it says that happens on both sides simultaneously, mine's only on one side - but I agree it's some kind of nerve inflammation/irritation.. I'm hoping it gets better soon or at least goes into remission for a few days!

If it helps anyone, using a TENS machine can distract you from it for a while..

I'm seeing Neuro again tomorrow so will update then.. no sleep again so exhausted from it all 🙁

Hi, have you visited the Neurologist again? What did they say?

What were your symptoms?

@medee where do you feel the nerve pain? Is it always present? For me the tingling, shooting pains and twitches seem to be getting better (although some days are better than others). But I do have a persistent pain in my bottom right leg, a bit up from my ankle. It's like having a toothache, it's constantly there but it's not like a muscular pain, more like a nerve pain. If I press on it it's tender and sore. Im pretty certain it's related to this as it was the bottom part of my right leg and calf that was the most affected when I started getting these symptoms. I even had a DVT ultrasound about 2.5 weeks after first shot as I was terrified I had a clot,  but it was all clear

Going to see my GP today to ask about this ongoing pain. May get another ultrasound done. I'm seeing neurologist next Monday also for a follow up. Will keep everyone posted

Hi what's the update? Did you do your tests and visit the neuro? What are the saying?

You and I almost have the same symptoms- pins and needles, tingling, nerve pain and weakness in the legs. For me its the left leg having an issue.

Pls use the QUOTE option when you respond.

@tashley  hi I am about nearly 7 weeks out from my first Pfizer jab and I think things could be getting better for me I did have a very major tingling all over my body from head to toe on every part and also I had the accompanying burning sensation the pins and needles seem to be calming down way off what they were from the start  my GP gave me  I think it’s called pregabalin  which I don’t know if it’s helping or not or it’s.  Calming by its self I still have a burning sensation on my skin which initially radiated from my spinal area upper back between shoulder blades and lower back in that went to my quads in my legs it’s as if  parts of my body were like sunburn and felt really sensitive to heat I was thinking to myself even though I’ve never had it before my life could this be something related to shingles but without the rash symptoms my GP reckons no but I am still undecided  I don’t know if you were experiencing this but I experienced insomnia  and also some hyperactivity in the early period of just being after vaccinated  for quite some time after the vaccine   As time passes my conditions have become milder I don’t want to jinx myself yet. I am holding off on the second Pfizer jab at this stage  and going to see a neurologist but the earliest is not until early next year probably like yourself of looked at many chat forums and there seems to be not saying it’s true but the consensus around the 6 to 8 week mark for symptoms subsiding and going away  I hope this is true stay strong  there are many of us going through it you’re not alone

@ausguy  hi how was just reading your post about the vaccine good to hear your symptoms are getting better there was one thing that particular you mentioned that are burning skin pain I have the same condition which initially was companied with the burning pins and needles which it all started in the spine of my back and the burning has been at times quite intense affecting my ability to sleep  it originated in the spine of my back and now it’s in my upper back lower back my quads  I just don’t know what it is but I know it’s from the vaccine  have you had any luck in diagnosing this burning skin?  I have found moisturising the affected areas has help me in cooling down the areas  The only other thing I can think of which my condition seems similar that it could be shingles without the tell-tale rash symptoms  my GP seems to think not .

@downunderguy

I have myself convinced that I have Guillian Barre. I just got back from an appointment with my PCP and he said he's only seen GBS twice in his life and both patients presented with rapid onset weakness, there was no tingling of the extremities present. But if you look online tingling of the extremities that radiates is considered the first symptom. I am honestly so scared i am going to wake up paralyzed. Seeing him did not instill any comfort in me at all. My tingling started exactly 2 and a half weeks ago. I have not experienced any weakness as of yet, and I pray to God I dont. He did recommend a neurology referral, which will probably be at least several months before I get to see someone. By then I hope my symptoms are resolved. He seemed like he didnt believe it was GBS because I do not currently have any weakness, but I have read that can come at any point really. Do symptoms typically start to subside 6-8 weeks post jab or post onset? I just feel all alone in this. I am really struggling mentally. I started having lower back pain about 6 days ago. Not excruciating, but its there. I am happy to hear you are getting better.
