@floryeo hi, I have blurred vision and tinnitus but I’ve had these for years though. I have burning and tingling soles of feet every night since jabs.  They have got better but still there. Not sure if it just hormonal as I’ve had this in the past but not this frequently. Thanks

@apnp23 Hi.  I am so happy to hear that your insomnia improved.  You must be ecstatic. I’m sure it was an awful experience.  Did you take anything?  How bad was it and how did you deal?

I’m 44 and my whole life I used to have the ability to sleep anytime, anywhere, whenever I wanted to get zzz’s.  I could’ve fallen asleep at a rock concert.

Then 13 days after Pfizer I had my first sleepless night ever.  It went downhill from there.  I was struggling to fall asleep, and then also struggling to stay asleep after waking.  Strangely, I’m never drowsy during the day. It’s like they put Red Bull in the shot.

There were some periods where I was sleeping for 4-5 hours, without any sleepless nights in a week.  But this week was rough.  I feel like a frying pan to the head would be better than Benadryl.

I actually just got a script today for Lunesta.  I am fearful of taking it, but I didn’t sleep a minute Monday night and only 3-4 hours each the other days.  Last night I slept for 2 hours and woke up with a pounding heart that persisted a while.

I used to be a jogger with a resting pulse in the high 50’s.  Now I just go for short walks and my pulse shoots over 100 or just loading the dishwasher. My pulse also shot up further for a week after hydroxyzine to a baseline of high 80’s non-stop during the day when sitting.  Then after a week it started to drop back down into the low 80s high 70s during the day when sitting.  After Benadryl this week it went into the high 80’s and into low 90’s at rest.  I get tachycardia going up the steps.

On a positive note, the burning sensation/nerve pain was minimal today.  Hopefully a good sign.

I have not had an MRI.  I would like one though.  I am really concerned about my brain.

Apparently with GBS, there can be all sorts of autonomic issues such as heart rate and blood pressure fluctuations, gastrointestinal issues.  I have bad constipation from the shot too.

Im happy I found neurologist who recognized that these shots are giving some people GBS, and that GBS does not always involve paralysis.

Good luck with the MRI.

Firstly, I am sorry that so many of you have experienced these unexpected and unexplained side effects from the COVID vaccine 🙁. I also encountered some painful and unsettling side effects. I had my 2nd COVID vaccination and had painful sore legs by 7pm that same evening. My legs felt heavy and deeply bruised for the next few days. I could shuffle my feet but lifting my legs to walk was challenging. The painful sore legs continued - like deep muscle pain for a couple more days.  By day 5, I had extreme lower back pain, tingling in legs, tingling feet and extremely painful and sore feet bottoms making it painful to walk.  I went to the Emergency department where they performed a CT scan and blood work.  All tests came back normal. I am waiting to see a Neurologist. I have been eating plenty of foods that have anti-inflammatory benefits and have eliminated diary - this seems to be helping. The pain and tingling seems to come and go now (2 weeks after the initial symptoms). I hope you all find pain relief and healing soon.

@johnnyc yes, I’m 36 and had no previous sleep issues. I was still able to fall asleep most nights but would then wake up around 1, 3, or 4 a.m with the inner buzzing feeling others are describing. I got only got fair relief with Benadryl and most nights did not take anything. My heart, like yours, would pound and go up to 120s or 130s even lying down or with minimal activity. Prior to this I worked out 6 days per week and have not worked out except for some light yoga in almost 12 weeks. My resting heart rate was around 60 but then for several weeks was 80s-90s. I saw my primary and my EKG was normal, he suspected like you said part of the neurological response. He gave me a small supply of lorazepam 0.5 mg but I only took a few as I was also fearful of taking something, but they did help.
Thank goodness my heart also seemed to improve this past two weeks. Funny you mention the dishwasher, that’s an example I would give people, that doing the dishes I just felt like I needed to rest.
On a final note, my brain MRI came back normal today which was a huge relief, as every one else’s on here have too so hopefully this is ultimately self resolving for you and all of us.

@johnnyc Hi Johnny. I’m sorry that you’re experiencing so much discomfort. I have many questions/comments but I’ll start here: May I ask how the conclusion of GBS came about (what tests determined this diagnosis.

My blood work results were fine today yet I still feel the Symptoms. The doctor won’t even refer me to a neurologist as he believes my symptoms are just anxiety. I’ve never felt anxiety like this before the second moderna shot….

@rosie01 is very frustrating.

MRI brain - normal

Nerve test - normal

Blood test - anticlear antibody positive ( very high). But dr said there a millions of anti-immune disorders, they cant test for all, can only test what they think coukd be the one. They did test for ANCA - negative.

Dr.'s conclusion - is all in the head - referred to see physchiastric. I insisted is real is not a phycosomatic issue.

Every now and then, wierd symptoms surface. Last night, both eyes and ears are so painful. And ears like a pressure pressing on it, like turnong deaf. Very scary.

Hello everyone,

This website has been an enormously helpful resource to me, so thanks to each of you for your participation, diligence, and compassion. I have tried to read as much as possible on this forum, so please excuse me if I have missed this information somewhere but I am particularly interested in folks who sought help from neurologists months and months ago, and if they have gone back for follow-up testing (months later) and if they learned anything new. I guess I'm just wondering how some of your neurologists ruled out something like MS, which could be slow-forming, since these effects appear to mimic that condition (though I guess any ailment will inevitably link to MS if you use the anxiety-inducing power of Google).

I have experienced the pins & needles in my hands/forearms/feet, but they've sorta subsided and given way to a strange feeling in my right cheek that comes and goes—not numbness or pins/needles, more like my cheek is swollen (but it doesn't look swollen?). These issues, coupled with a rapid heart rate, sent me to the ER. They performed an EKG & chest x-ray at the time and found nothing. But, subsequent tests revealed that I likely have hypothyroidism. Does anyone else with similar symptoms have this condition? I'm not sure if any or all of these symptoms can be chalked up to that but I'd be interested to hear if any of you found abnormal TSH levels after the onset of your symptoms. I've also been experiencing cramping, joint pain, and sinus pressure (especially behind my nose).

Anyway, I've been a nervous wreck over all of this and am trying to remain positive but it's tough. I'm going to see a neurologist next week—which has me particularly scared, but I want to be prepared with the right questions.

Thank you again, all my best to each of you,
T

Update after immunology appointment:

The appointment didn’t lend too many answers. She did draw a blood panel again and all of my results were normal. I did get Covid antibody tests. It was confirmed I have not had Covid but do have antibodies to the spike protein which was because I had the vaccine. There was really no other things found out.

nuerology update:

my neurologist doesn’t think it is GBS not even in a mild form. I tend to disagree. He also tried to push the functional neurological disorder theory but I said there is no way that is what this is.

update on my symptoms:

I feel like my days I have symptoms are getting further apart. I am 10 weeks post first Pfizer shot. I will not be taking another one. Lingering symptoms are numbness in limbs, paresthesia in my right shoulder blade and dizziness. I did have 6 days in a row this last week that I felt relatively normal before I had a relapse in symptoms. I’m hoping this will continue to space itself out and I am getting better. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

@tashley I understand. Do what you and your doctors feel is right. I too had crushing head pressure at first with brain fog now I’m just left with vertigo as far as my head goes.
